real world mpg frs/brz

Curious as to the real world driving mpg that people will be getting. Please give an estimate of how much city/highway driving made up your numbers.

Go check out Pekingduck's thread. He said somewhere around 30, IIRC>

Filled up first time today.. manual FR-S got 29.6 MPG average

So I filled up after 285 miles today first time. Averaged 29.6 MPG which is not bad at all considering most was mixed light city and highway driving together. I'm keeping it below 4k RPM for break-in which probably has a lot to do with it. I'm not hyper-miling in any sense.

The mileage exceeded my expectations.

Calculation method was simply miles driven divided by gas I put in so it could be the case that the dealer topped it off to start with which mean s my number could be high. Avg MPG on onboard computer shows 29.3 average MPG.

I'm still on the first tank of gas (will need to fill up tomorrow) and the car says I'm averaging 31.0 mpg. I'm also keeping it below 4K, but not hypermiling or anything like that either.

That's awesome, MT for you guys? I highly doubt even once the car is broken in I'll be taking it much higher than 4k RPMs on a daily basis, so if I can get around 30 on a consistent basis that is better than expected. Hoping for closer to 35 on road trips while cruising at highway speeds.

My Impreza is rated at 26 highway and consistently gets around 29 on longer road trips fwiw.

I can’t seem to get it down to less than 10 mpg for any length of time but I will keep trying.

30 MPG avg is totally awesome in this car. Now if you hyper mile and take a trip from SA to Dallas, you might avg about 40 MPG!

Idle at 7000. That should help.

So for people posting their numbers, I'd really like to know what transmission you're on. And thanks!

Until you hit Austin! That is, unless you take the loop around it.

Can the manual drivers tell us what the cruising rpm is at 70mph? I'm still torn between getting the auto/manual as it will be my daily driver and the extra mpg wouldn't hurt. I know the auto cruises at 74mph at 2500rpm which is super nice!
