I just received an email from him saying they're currently out of stock. So...I guess they are out of stock.

My second choice is the cupholder setup but that seems tacky and may be wobbly. I would regain some $140 back but there would be a loss of scarce storage space in this critical area. So OEM it is. |

These armrest are made in China and can only be ordered in China now.
Only ¥260, which is about $40+. The quality of those pics are not that good, but the quality of those product is not bad.

I personality do not like them; however, it is another option.

Figo, do you have a source for the armrest linked just above? I agree it's not the prettiest unit but I think I'd prefer the extra height compared to the OEM unit.
Thanks. |

I received my armrest from the UK on a Sat and installed it within the hour. Practically one of if not the BEST I've done for my car. Serves as a brace for hard cornering, for adjusting yourself, an place to stow my stuff from prying eyes, cards, devices e.g. as well as yes, an armrest for me and my significant other. Not to mention the ability to resume my 'The thinker' poise. Heck, even my naps in the car took on a more comfortable stance. Sure, there is minimal if any padding but at least this OEM matches the rest of interior.
My only question is (a) why I took so long to finally pull the trigger and (b) what are they doing over in design, sound tube vs an armrest ????

I figure though they weren't trying to avoid an armrest, but this armrest does use up your center cup holders which nearly most cars have and I personally find useful. Having to open up a lid to use them is just a bit inconvenient. I use my side cup holders for my microfiber and sometimes cups just don't fit in there well. I assume Toyota compromised by foregoing the armrest. Some people enjoy the sound tube.

Surely these will be offered in the US at a more reasonable price in the upcoming years?
I just can't fork over that kind of dough for an armrest. |
