the Pioneer DDJ-SX with the stanton uberstand looks like a perfect fit for your space! I like your set up by the way, how do you like using serato DJ? personally I use 2 technics 1200's and Rane TTM56 mixer with Serato Scratch live, but since they will stop support for that soon, looks like I will be migrating to Seato DJ. it looks about the same as scratch live. ps the loft is awesome too!

This always gets everyone. Our biggest screen is less than 40 inches and we watch less than an hour of anything a month. The screen upstairs comes on maybe once a month and the one downstairs is set to classical music for our Cockatoo. Just sound, no picture.

Years ago I had several pairs of 1200's and 1210's, several pairs of CDJ-1000's and DJM mixers. I just recently got back into spinning as a mere hobby now. It's really nice not spinning for money anymore. When I got back into it space was a concern so I decided on Traktor with the Pioneer DDJ-T1 and it offered me just about everything I would use while mixing. I just recently migrated over to Serato because I felt the T1 was just too plasticky. Mixes were nice but I'm a feally kind of guy so if I can't feel what I am doing, it's just not fun. The DDJ-SX is better built and has a nice metal top plate to it. Plus the jogs are really smooth (smoother than the CDJ-1000's and CDJ-900nexus's) and the faders are very fluid with just the right amount of resistance. I have come to like Serato better than Traktor. I think the only complaint I have is when recording a mix, the recording DB readout was more accurate with Traktor.

I was considering the pioneer vs the numark. Thoughts? It would great for sampling and spinning intros but I might just break down and pony up for a classic turn table for real scratching rather than mixing since I can do most of that digitally anyway.

I have used Pioneer CDJ's since the 500's came out. In my first post I forgot to acknowledge that I also owned 4 CDJ-700's (I still have one of those in storage). If you are familiar with Pioneer's CDJ layout the Serato player is pretty true to form. If you haven't played with the DDJ-SX I suggest go to guitar center and give one a spin. The jogs are super smooth. So smooth that if you scratch, you might want something with just a tad more resistance. Other than that, I am very satisfied with both the controller and software. If you have anymore questions about it feel free to PM me and I'll be glad to help you.
