Is this a problem with all of us at that elevation or just a problem with the C38 blower? The rest of us are on the C30.

The C38 is a bit exaggerated as far as that goes. You're more than welcome to send a WOT log over to me to make sure everything looks kosher.

I have another question I'm interested in the jackson racing kit but would like more power than the carb tune provides but the hbp on the c38 requires a built engine what about the hbp on the c30 is that safe for the stock engine oh and I'm looking at going e85

A C30 blower with the high boost pulley and E85 will get you to about the safe limits of the stock engine in terms of daily reliability. There are folks running this combo that have been fine for quite awhile, and others that fatigue quickly and require an upgraded block sooner rather than later.

Sincerely,

Zach

* Improved closed coop fuel correction
* More top end power

Great news on the overboost protection.

The Double D, is this only going to be used for SuperCharger applications, or will it also apply to the Turbo applications as well?

The Double D is Edelbrock specific for now.

After some consideration, I've decided to go in the get the flex fuel kit with the e85 flash and go tune today. Mike installed the fuel pump and injectors next door and then Zack flashed the tune soon after. I will comment back here with any updates but as for now I am very happy with how it turned out. My frs runs so much more noticeably smoother now than before (not to mention faster haha). Now gotta save up for a new set of wheels and tires!

Hi guys. Im about to FI my 86 in the next couple of weeks with a custom low mount setup. Im using a Garrett GT2871R with .86ar. My goals are around 280-300whp on a stock engine.

Im able to run 102ROZ fuel. Will the flash&go tune need adjustments for the fuel? How much boost I have to do to reach the 280whp mark?

Cheers from germany.

The 280whp mark would probably be achievable on wastegate pressure without even taking advantage of your high quality fuel over there. With your fuel and a bit more boost, I think we could get you above 300whp without putting too much stress on the engine at all.

Sincerely,

Zach

Thank you for your answer @Zach. Im on wg pressure (0.5bar) w/o any boost control (yet). Im getting ECUtek soon. Wich boostcontroller do I have to get to be able to do boost control via ECUtek RaceROM? Are you able to implement the bc into the software?

Cheers from germany

You can do an EBC with ecutek and set custom boost per gear or get a manual boost control and adjust it to what you wanna run with the tune of course, but wait till Zach gets back to you with what will be better for your goals.

Any 3 port EBCS will work very well. We have one that we sell on our website from Infamous Performance that we're rather fond of!

Ah okay so I need a complete EBC. My thoughts are to implement the boost solenoid only into the stock ECU and use it with ECUtek. Is this possible in any ways? Wiring or other things arent a problem, im a technican at Lexus.
@Zach, you said that we can get over 300whp without pushing any limits with "my" fuel... I've read that the stock conrods will die at around 280whp. A friend of mine is pushing ~400whp on a stock FA20 w/o any failures @E85. How could this be possible? I know that the rods are weak at this power level and that they dont like any kind of knock.

IF its possible to get around 300+whp w/o punishing the stock long block Im your man. But just if its really safe to do this. Im completely stock (engine, injectors, clutch,...). w/ oil cooler @ Motul 300V 5W-40.

edit: I got a lot of track/race usage...

cheers from germany

@denso it's not power that kills the rods but torque, or more specifically cylinder pressure. That's why knock is bad but also if kept in check, especially at lower RPM, then you can be fine.
