I'm sure ICEs will be around for a long time. Maybe for the rest of your life, but they are going out in the long run. At this time, we need oil for so many products that it is kind of crazy that we are using the world's supply for vehicles. Eventually, ICEs will be so antiquated that only a few will drive them around on Sundays like people do with classic cars. Gas stations will be so rare, outlawed or unavailable that owning an ICE vehicle might be impossible, assuming the emission standard doesn't lead to an outright ban on them from existing anywhere other than a race track.
It may also get to a point where society sees ICEs as being rude kind of like loud, obnoxious ring tones or people talking loudly on bluetooth headsets were for phones. They may become rude for their emission pollution, noise pollution and dripping-fluids, ground pollution.

Currently, I find Musk-worshippers to be rude for their smarmy, smug sanctimoniousness*.
So I guess they're ahead of the ICE pack after all! * Irace - I'm not referring to you, but there are some people who believe that "Dear Elon" can do no wrong, and that anyone who disagrees is either part of the oil lobby, or a short selling bottomfeeder. |

5% is not bad, but they've had profitable quarters before. Having worked for companies that played in those type of numbers I've seen a quarter be manipulated through cheap accounting tricks to be profitable. Hopefully its a trend.
I don't particularly care for their products (and its not because they are electric) but I do want them to succeed. They are pioneers, and I always like to see them make it.

I don't agree with quite a bit of what Tesla does, but if nothing else, the Model 3 seems to have finally forced the more established manufacturers to step up on producing serious (not you, Leaf) competition. Which is never a bad thing. |

It is subjective of course. Now that VW, Volvo and some other brands are going head deep into electric cars, there will be more options for those that don’t care for Tesla’s aesthetics. Aesthetics are probably the largest reason we have so many different car brands.

Can you get your Tesla with sport cup 2s in 245? No? So why bother tuning the esc and abs specifically for a tire nobody has on their Tesla? (Especially since it's gonna kill them real quick) What tires does that Giulia come with? That Ferrari comparison is a bit suspect... Driver makes all the difference. https://fastestlaps.com/tracks/willo...eets-of-willow Anyway, let me know if you want to hear the parts I found impressive about the stunt. |

It took about 6 weeks and a lot of tuning sticky tires and better pads for a model 3 to achieve 1:21.4 lap time. The Alfa Gulia did it right off the bat and keep the same lap times consistent right out of the box and did it 1.29 second slower The '16 cayman gt4 and the '11 458 Italia (1:22.30) where all about 1 second slower than the '18 Model 3. Hum.... did I read that right? Sounds to me like the Alfa Gulia is the best bang for the buck.
