I've got a fair bit of experience with D2's. A close friend had them on his MK1 MR2 (until they blew and couldn't be rebuilt) which I drove a few times and I installed a set of F2's (D2, F2 and K-Sport coilovers are the same) on another friend's MR2. I'm not a big fan of them; for my $.02 they were too stiff all the time for a street car and being non-rebuildable seems like a waste of money. (EDIT: I guess they are rebuildable now?) My close friend traded them out for struts/springs after they blew, but the MR2 didn't have much in the way of coilover options like the BRZ/FR-S will have.

They get the job done for making the car low, that's for certain. There have been some pics of broken D2's floating around the internet which make me a tad nervous, though. Some people seem to really like theirs, but enough people including my friends complained that I was turned off to buying them for my car. Darren I certainly wish you the best of luck with yours; I don't mean to be putting rats in your head after you just bought these! The fact that they're still in business after at least a decade means they have to be doing something right!

For serious performance, KW seems like the best bet for now but yes they probably cost twice as much. I'm sure there will be a myriad of different choices in the future.

I did do some research before I plunked down the cash, and I did read about some broken sets -- but I also read that D2 quickly replaced any components that failed. The good customer service record online, the early availability and the low-ish price were the three main factors that were important to me.

I have a set of the KWs sitting in my garage so if the D2s turn out to be a bust I can always fall back on the v3s.

Grrr... YouTube suggested that my video was too shaky, so offered to fix it. I shouldn't have said yes!

I'm out in Gresham for the summer, but I live downtown the rest of the year. My shop is near Mt. Tabor, though.

Thank you! I got four different compliments on it from four different people at four different red lights yesterday, haha.

Otherwise stellar job. My tails are tinted without the red undercoat. Still on stock springs and wheels though

I dunno.... I sort of like the bright white light that comes off the front of the car... will have to think about that.

The Commodore is COMING TO AMERICA!!!

I know... that is actually why I decided to buy one. I had never even considered owning a Pontiac GTO but when I was in Australia the Commodores were everywhere. When I got back to the States I started noticing Cadillac Cateras, Pontiac GTOs and Pontiac G8s all over the place.

Haven't done much to my car lately, just enjoying it.

Installed my hydraulic hood strut kit that I won at the NW Mega Meet, though!

(thanks @mechaghost)
