The only two things I can think of is you have windowed your block or your oil pressure sensor is leaking.

well It was a long weekend but I got everything done that I wanted. I haven't noticed any more oil leaks but I will be keeping my eye on it. the modifications worked great. Temps seem to be holding better. cruising usually between 85-95C on the oil temps only rise to about 100C or a little over when really getting on it. I still need to get a better water sensor but the stock needle usually is below half way. I can run my AC now from what I can tell all the time barely creeps up to 100C oil temps when on. the Sound from the turbo is definitely changed. I wish I knew a good way to describe it. It sounds like a Kissing sound with the flutter after of the Blow off valve. or maybe the sound of suction on a plastic bag. I don't know if this is normal but the intake sits right against the bumper and next to the windshield washer reservoir and it sounds like it comes from that area so I think its just resonant noise. what do you all think? it's only when I am boosting. my butt dyno says it is pulling harder then before too but we won't know untill I have time to take it in for a base line to see if it made any changes. In the photos you can see how many bends I took out and where the outlet now comes out and into the intercooler. Added a venting location behind the oil cooler as well as you can see. I need to get a better adhesive to hold the grill in place but for now the screws are doing a great job.. just not a fan of screws near the wheels if you know what I mean. hope this helps others out there as well.

I have a new theory.

So a friend and me took apart the AC compressor to inspect and clean it up. We found no trace of a leak anywhere. I could not for the life of me find anything that could have been leaking.

However, I just recently upgraded to the radium catch can system since the previous owner left the breather hose tucked down in there. When I tracked it a few months ago, oil was spraying out of it all over the place. There is a chance that I had just missed the oil that pooled there from the hose and did not notice it until recently.

That's really the only thing that makes sense to me right now. I cleaned up the pooled oil and have been driving it for a week and have not noticed any oil pooling anymore. I still notice an oil burning smell but I don't see any visual signs of new oil anywhere and I checked my cam plate and it is not leaking. Maybe the smell is just residual oil I had missed?

If the block were to have 'windowed', would it be very noticeable? Other symptoms?

I'm currently running FBM's basemap on their premium kit, and my throttle feels REALLY sensitive now. On top of that, boost starts kicking in at 2k, so I'm finding it.... difficult to drive like a normal human being. Does the basemap change the throttle sensitivity at all? I feel like I'm learning how to drive all over again.

It probably does modify the DBW throttle tables.

just to solidify the benefit of better flowing air the results are in all those bends do actually rob us of a few HP I went to the dyno today and with the piping relocation and intake relocation only I noticed a nice little bump in power. You see a little over a 20 hp bump. I was thinking maybe we would a 5-10 hp jump I was definitely happy with the results.

Any updates? Any new owners? Hate seeing this thread not on the first page to keep people from buying TR3/FA20Club turbo kits.
