Guys why are you always complaining about the aggressive look of the new 86, and the lack of power. They have always went more aggressive on cars when they refresh, and kept them around 200hp. See here is an article from the 1987 300zx....
http://www.cars.com/nissan/300zx/1987/expert-reviews/ This year the settings have been recalibrated to go along with the overall recalibration of the suspension system. Compared to previous years, the settings are definitely firmer in all positions. Handling, as can be expected, is excellent. If you have the skill, the 300ZX Turbo will do just what you want it to. Even if you haven't the skill, it will make you look better. To go along with the looks and handling is a fair amount of power supplied by a turbocharged fuel-injected V-6 measuring 3-liter/180-cubic-inches. This overhead cam engine is rated at 200 horsepower at 5,200 rpm and 227 foot pounds torque at 3,600 rpm. This is certainly more than enough juice to make the daily run to work an exciting experience. There is a slight turbo lag in off the line acceleration but once it gets rolling just hang on. The lag throughout other ranges can be just about eliminated by a little anticipation and keeping up the rpm. And with the five- speed manual transmission, it really isn't all that difficult to do. The engine also has a nice healthy sound to it and it isn't that apparent unless the roof panels are removed or you happen to be standing on the outside and watching it drive away. Fuel mileage turned out to be quite decent for a 200 horsepower sports car. The test car (using unleaded premium) averaged 25 miles per gallon for highway driving and 16 mpg for city driving. Toyota and Subaru marketing just didn't emphasize enough at least in North America that this is actually just a remake of the old 80's sports car type, so people wouldn't need to be forced to buy an old used car to get a similar driving feel (marketing somehow thinks this is probably a bad thing to point out).
I'm not old enough to know if this re-interpretation is accurate or not to its 80's counterparts when new, but I'm sure they did a good job on it from reading comments by older folks. |

So many online "engineers" pretending what they know best for Toyota and Subaru. Please, don't complain and go to engineering school then work for Toyota or Subaru. Just maybe, i'll take concerns about this car needing more power seriously.

They look cool (many lookers among gt class cars of that era), but i wouldn't want 'em, given choice. Simply because one less system to fail, cheaper replacement parts after crash and so on. Not of 'hate level' of course.

Pretty sure that the pop ups on my 91 Talon had some sort of work share agreement with each other. Alternant days one would work and the other wouldn't. On the very rare occasion they would both pop up on their own at the same time I figured there must have been overtime pay involved.

Its funny (and difficult) to compare present day to 1987. Young drivers of today have no idea how difficult it was to make cheap horsepower back in the 80s. It was very difficult. It was a pretty big deal for a new model to have 10-15 hp more than it's predecessor. Meanwhile today horsepower is so abundant and easy to come by it's practically falling out of the sky. Can't compare the two.

Hi friends,
So as a task given to me by our good friend @ichitaka05, I will be at Wicked Big Meet to cover the New "yellow" BRZ. Unlike NYIAS however I will not be with my media outfit, but doing this strictly as part of the event staff for the forums. Besides pictures what would you like me to do? I was thinking of doing a live stream, let me know which platform works best for everyone, in the past we used facebook through our FT86Club expo page. If we get lucky... we might even have a special segment for everyone. So let me know! Thanks! Zaku
