Interesting... never would have thought about using steel wool. What number did you use? Waiting on your pics... might have to try this.

@Chad86...Sweet that it turned out to be a successful mod in the end. Could you snap a picture in better lighting and post it? thanks

My initial attempt using acetone was unsuccessful, so I tried using 0000 steel wool.

Here's what it looked like before. I stopped with the acetone because it started to look like shit and degraded the plastic.

Then I used 0000 steel wool and gently scuffed the area to try to restore the plastic a little. I'm a bit iffy on the results; it is definitely better than the acetone method but being a perfectionist it is still not good enough for me. You can still see minor scratches and faded plastic color in certain lighting conditions. And yes tiny scratches are unavoidable with steel wool, even with a light touch and using the superfine grade.

This picture is after using the steel wool, some cleaner and some quick wax:

I increased the exposure in the photo so you have a better idea of what to expect. It is not noticeable at all unless you're in direct sunlight, but I am just being nitpicky. I am satisfied with it for now, but not finished. Next I'll try to use some rubbing compound to fill in the tiny scratches made by the steel wool and buff out the finish. I'll post my results when it's done.

Should I do this on a lease...that is the question... Already installed HID and replaced emblems with Toyota.. I might buy the car out at end of lease for $16k. Or get something new!

They will not notice or care if the Scion is missing from the head unit when/if you take it back.

Search function works! I knew I wasn't the only one who thought of this. Going to try this later with the recommended Walmart remover up top. Anyone else successfully do this with any other options?

You are welcome to try but like myself and many others, the acetone will quickly look like shit if you're not careful.

This thread is about physically removing the scion logo... not the startup screen. And to my knowledge it is not possible.

So last night I had a knife with me cause i used it to pop off the Scion wheel center caps. Anyways, went inside the car...and i remembered this thread and thought...hmm...let me be dumb and use my knife the scrap the scion off haha. So i did, but i wasn't too worried since i knew wool would work and it did afterwards. Removed the knife marks and scion using (SOS) wool.

To all my fellow Canadians, just go to Dollarama, get the SOS wool and go at it and it will remove the Scion badge.

I still need to polish up the plastic, but either way, i think it looks great and it's not faded or anything
