to be honest, IF both regular & G's come in production and perform as same as GT5. I'm still gonna buy regular FT86. Cuz stock FT86 perform awesomely over G's. Yes, Turbo ver have more hp and can make more hp... but something bout lightly tuned NA FT86 that I cannot resist.

I could see them making it a special edition (like the Nismo 370Z) or offer the kit and some performance parts as TRD options.

Only difference is TRD parts are hella expensive... but it's just that good.

Actually, they could do what Nissan did and do both -- there's a factory "Nismo" edition with a different body kit, different exhaust, and a few other bells and whistles, and then there are also a bunch of Nismo "S-tune" goodies, including a body kit (different from the factory Nismo) you can buy.

Both the factory Nismo and the Nsimo S-tune options seem to be pretty popular, so no reason why Toyota couldn't do this as well.

I meant to say, TRD parts are expensive. Example TRD struts are averagely 1.5x~2x expensive than Nismo, Mugen/Muteki, STI and other company's struts... but they're really awesome!

In the olden days, TRD was awesome. Now it's just re-branded 'ordinary' aftermarket stuff but with the old TRD price tag. Some of the good stuff is still available, though. (Buddy ordered a TRD diff for his Supra $$$!)

My wheels are an example of the old TRD awesomeness. Forged monobloc by none other than Rays Engineering. Does that still apply to TRD wheels today? Not bloody likely.

Good part of TRD is if they're enough ppl demand it, they'll makes old TRD parts. iirc for AE86 dry Carbon Fiber hood, if they have 500 pre-order w payment fully paid, they will make it.

500 people pre-ordering a TRD dry carbon hood. Oh my! That's a lot of rich boys and girls! Christ, that would be like a $1.5M order!

It happened in Japan. My cousin's friend was one of those 500. I can't remember how much he had to pay, but he told me that he borrowed money from several friends & family members to get that cf hood... but in the end, he actually sold it (too chicken to actually install it in his 86). He made good money out of it (so I heard).
