I really think K series guys use the term "bolt-on" loosely.

really, full valvetrian and Cam-shafts are "Bolt-on".

Well technically, so is a turbo-kit. You just bolt it on, stick a chip in the ECU and BAM! 270WHP.

Father: "...and this one time son, when I was your age, Honda made cars that people like you and me gave a shit about. Cars that were actually fun to drive."

Son: "Really dad? I think you're lying.. First you tell me Santa isn't real and now you tell me Honda used to make cars that were actually fun?! I'm not even sure you're my real daddy anymore!"

Father: "Oh son, don't say that... Now put on your shoes the autonomous car is waiting to take us to our pre-determined, government approved work location and don't forget to put on your GPS-based behavior modification tracker."

Wrong again. I don't mind you having your own opinion but do research before posting please. Head over to 8thcivic.com and you'll find several hundred people at this point making 240whp+ See, I actually like using facts in my posts, I put in the research

That's your opinion and I respect that. However, I clearly listed what parts I was referring to before this conversation began, so let's not whine about what another community defines as bolt-ons. Again, I encourage you to check out the facts before posting.

Okay let's get back on topic! Have a good day everyone

There is NO community that can legitimately consider valve train replacements "Bolt Ons"...

Hell, even upgraded injectors can't be considered bolt ons and you're not even breaking into the engine to get to those.

Intake Manifold, exhaust manifold and piping is about all you can consider bolt ons.

Yeah, if you want to consider valve train upgrades "Bolt ons", then why don't we consider FI bolt ons??? They're a hell of a lot more "Bolt On" than engine internals?

I suppose it depends on the engine design. Changing the cam on my D16a6 would take me less time than change an exhaust system. Could probably do it under 30 minutes and without having to mess with resetting the timing belt.

But changing the cams on the FRS.. ah.. nope.

Unfortunately it is stated this will start with the NEXT generation. The new Civic Type R is the current generation 😕

Exactly @WolfpackS2k.

Honda said that the civic type r was not meant to meet US regulations and thus will not make it to the states. But we will get a hatch (maybe) :P

2015 Civic Type-R

Sucks...of course I'd probably pick the Focus RS anyway, lol. No chance in hell I'd buy a 300hp FWD vehicle.

Interesting news you that you guys probably already know. The CTR is officially coming to the US and all the other civic trims will be 1.5 turbos (including the SI).

It's on Honda's website, that'd be the ultimate troll.
