Give Sabine Schmitz the FT86 for some Nürburgring action
Would be cool if Toyota gave Sabine Schmitz an FT86 for some timed laps round the ring, after all she's probably one of the drivers that knows that place the best!
Anyone else agree? |

I have a better idea: give ME an FT86 and let me drive it around the Nordschleife. I've probably put down 200 laps in Forza, that's gotta count for something.

Just to see what sort of time it can put down, give us a comparison to other vehicles in a similar price / performance bracket.
Or, to give a proper answer to a 'why?' question, Why not? |

They could also give it to a naked Playmate and have her do donuts in a parking lot like that Youtube vid...

I have a feeling this car wouldn't do really good on the ring. A 2000 s2000 did 8:39 on the ring so I would venture to guess it would be around 8:50 which is good enough.
A Genesis coupe V6 Track model with a overheated automatic tranny did 8:28. Last edited by SUB-FT86; 10-21-2011 at 07:35 AM. |

Don't focus too much on all those laptimes. Remember that most of these lapstimes are set by (very-) different drivers in different years, weather, so many different variables..
The only laptimes you COULD hold onto are the ones from the German car magazine Sport Auto as they always let the same person drive the cars, a very well known Nordschleife driver. He may not be the fastest (anymore) , but he's consistent. And honest.. |
