One Toyota of Oakland Valve Spring Experience

It took about a week and a half. They provided a loaner RAV4. I had them do the spark plugs at the same time, which cost $103.75 for parts. That's a lot for those plugs, but it sure beats the labor price. I also asked them to do the serpentine belt, but the part is backordered, and Chase, the service rep, said that they'd put one on for me, no charge, if I can get one.

The bad? I asked them to swap the stock header back on, and they didn't. However, they did properly install the EL Borla I already had on, and there are no exhaust leaks. Hopefully no oil leaks either, but I'll find out soon.
It took about 30 minutes from paying until my car finally showed up out front.
The RAV4 Hybrid loaner is an absolute shitfest of a car. Uncomfortable. Poor handling. Ugly. The FR-S is 100 times more comfortable.
I may have heard an exhaust or clutch related rattle. Not sure. Will keep listening.

Grab an LED flashlight and frequently check those valve covers for oil leaks after spirited drives. Thanks in advance.

Seems hard to get a decent appointment. They offered Albany but it's really far and also it had the tiniest little service area. Given the huge inconvenience I opted to wait. Anybodies car blow up while awaiting the appointment?

Do you happen to know if they use the same oil that you had on your car? Or do they put it a new one?

The recall requires them to replace the oil (will be factory specs). Oil filter will stay the same iirc.

That's good to hear.
Mines in the shop right now. My loner car is Nissan Sentra. Another shitbox, slow handles like a fwd sedan but it's comfortable at least.
Keep us updated. I'll keep mine updated after I get mine back too.
