Because the rear view mirror on my 2017 Limited is the super basic one one with a tab on the bottom.

Yes sorry, forgot it’s technically an option.

They appear to be identical with the exception of the compass, and the Subaru model having a black frame, as opposed to an all glass frameless design. Or does Subaru offer a truly frameless dimming mirror finally?

(FYI, the "frame" you see in the photo of mine is the non-dimming portion of the mirror. In reality, it's almost invisible apart from a noticeable line where the two sections meet. The outer glass is one piece, though.)

The mirror in my 2017 Limited is like the first picture (your mirror) plus a compass. It has the same “non-dimming portion of the mirror” around the dimming portion and there is no gap between the homelink buttons, just like your mirror.

The gap is just a result of a different angle from which the photo was taken. Both photos I posted have the same buttons. I can't find a single photo of my mirror in any BRZ or any Subaru in fact. Can you take a photo of your mirror? Im genuinely curious.

I think you are misunderstanding the gap that I am referring to. In the first picture, there is no significant space between the 3 home link buttons, in the second picture there is an obvious gap between the buttons... it has nothing to do with the photo angle. Trust me... the first mirror plus a compass is exactly what came preinstalled in my 17 limited, just as a couple of other people have noted on this thread.

Huh. I still cannot find a single reference to that mirror anywhere online on any parts sites, on Subaru's site, or in any stock photos both from Subaru or elsewhere at all. That's really weird...

I liked the look on the rear of the car, but I didn't realize how huge the front emblem is on these cars, and on my color (galaxy blue), I thought it stood out way to much. I'd probably keep them on if my car was gray or black

Got my failing throw out bearing replaced, went ahead and had the clutch swapped while the transmission was out, and had Motul put in as well. Car feels so nice now and doesn't squeal like a banshee when I press the clutch

Looks like normal idler pulley operation to me. If it doesn't squeak, squeal, etc. and doesn't have excessive play with the engine shut off it's probably fine.

Not the idler pulley , I believe it's the tensioner pulley you have to see
**That's what they said in the other thread**

You can see it wobble from side to side ..I was told it's normal from other members just a few moments ago

Thanks anyways
