The second part, I'm pretty sure the ecu are similar but I can't quite say that you can just flash mapping from one car to another one esp if it's oem mapping.

Is tpms really illegal to not have in the us?
sorry for my poor english.

i am in canada, they are not mandatory. but in usa they are mandatory.

i just want to get rid of the system or by tricking it. i just find out that we can build a closed pipe insert all the tpms into it and put the right pressure and the system will catch the signal and act like all the tire are at the right pressure.

If the state that you're living does required checkup then there's no way to get rid of it. You can disable it or block the led light. Either way it'll show up once you use a obd2 reader. Best bet is to install them if you're worried about breaking the laws.

Buy them on line since it's cheaper and just ask the dealer to program them.

I think to my knowledge that both canadian FRS / BRZ have TPMS.
my winters i do not have TPMS in them. however it does take about 30 + min of driving time for my car to notice that i don't have TPMS at the moment.
so during my commute back and forth from work (20 min each way)
i go on without seeing the TPMS light for weeks.
and then it comes on when I drive on weekends to further places.
but..i mean that is just my guess. double check though.
also CDN dollar being really low at the moment makes it very appealing for cross-border shopping i bet

BRZ does not have tpms in Canada. It's an frs thing only.

Also I think only Subaru that has tpms is the Tribeca.

.... it is SUPER easy to disable if you hook up the ODB to Toyota's service software

i know, its not a big deal...but for me, its kinda annoying.
So my tires do not have sensors in them, never swapped them from my factory rims - my light comes on like once or twice and goes away. Not a big deal. no idea why it goes away, but I do not complain haha

right now my frs is park in the same garage were my original tires, wheel and tpms are. so when i start the car, it pickup the signal from the original set of wheel. but after a few km of drive away from the original set of wheel. the low pressure light in my dash start to blink then stay on.

you are right, I am used to older/different toyota's that allowed for it through software. Now it seems like you need to do it yourself through some other methods

1. spend money and do this http://www.beastronix.com/shop/86nanny-pedal-dance/

2. spend time and do this: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7827

3. look up wiring diagram and cut wires (like people do with Tacomas now)

There is supposed to be a TPMS mode used for shipping, where the sensors are turned off. I have a cheap ebay Chinese knock-off OBD2 cable with some teckstreem software. I just haven't found where to turn the sensors off yet. Since it will probably only be inspected for TPMS one time, you could simply borrow somebody's wheels with the TPMS sensors. For something important like this I would recommend getting the cable, connecting to a friends car with TPMS sensors installed and working, record the TPMS sensor numbers for each wheel, mark each wheel, get car, swap wheels with friend, hook up cable, turn off shipping mode, program each sensor by number, drive at least an hour to make sure it works, take it through inspection, pass inspection, turn shipping mode back on, swap wheels back with friend, and drink some of that beer you smuggled in from Canada in the trunk.
