no extra power mods . just cosmetics. I bought in December of 2012. I drive about 1000 miles a week.

There is a whole number of threads here about this issue along with the squeaky clutch which I think is related. I'm at 64k and I have been hearing the squeaky clutch so hopefully I will not have the same issue but seems like a matter of time. Toyota needs to recall this shit already.

I would trailer it home and install an aftermarket clutch, light weight flywheel and the rest.

Probably cost a ton less too. But for the other parts... that I don`t know how much work and difficult it is.

Was there any sign of a problem before it happened? Any weird noise? Was everything normal without any weird noise and it broke all of a sudden?

Not saying Subaru will be better, but their extended warranty covers most wear & tear items.

As is the case with most of these things, you need to read the fine print before you buy.

Yeah definitely. Its a little sooner than I expected, but its to be expected nonetheless.

I just crossed 80k on my 13 and no issues with mine either. I've been contemplating changing the bearing, clutch, etc at 100k before my luck runs out.

That is my loose plan at this point. If I start to hear weird things I may move that up but so far so good.

Ok since I'm in the middle of doing a clutch/flywheel/bearing replacement I thought I would chime in. Currently just below 100k miles. Was at the track and throw out bearing decided to melt so I ordered all new parts. Forgot to order new throw out bearing clips since mine melted so waiting on that little part. I wonder if the aftermarket high performance last longer than oem on a stock motor

I am just curious. When you stop at a traffic light or stop sign, do you hold the clutch in the whole time you are waiting to go or do you shift to neutral and release the clutch then re-engage when it is time to go? I am not criticizing either method. I am just curious what method you used during the 63K miles you drove.
