If he gives a package without the header it would make sense, but if it's not gonna be available I believe it will lose quite a bit of customers. Myself for example have a different header and because I dont have any tuner around my place I was thinking of going with OFT and vortech but I want to use my EL header (nameless).

Shiv, you said "Hopefully what we have to offer will make some people who never thought of going FI reconsider" but I am struggling to find this to be true. At $3800, this really doesn't make me reconsider anything.

of course, there isn't much you can do about it. It's a vortech unit. It's expensive. It is a good price. But it's just not "make me reconsider" price. It's only a couple hundred of bucks off of the tuner version.

plus I'm not a fan of making some of the modifications to the car that the vortech kit requires. IIRC, there's some grinding, etc. looks like I'll be staying NA for a while.

if vishnu wants to lead the way with FI, I believe it will take building a custom open flash kit and offering it at a low price. Somewhere around $3k +-$200 would make me reconsider FI.
Not to speak for Shiv, but the way I see it...

If $600 is the make or break amount for your FI decision, then perhaps full time FI isn't your best option. There are ancillary component upgrade costs (brakes, tires, etc) associated with increasing engine power this much that will price you above that $600 difference.

Also, even with extensive testing of kit and tune (by their respective manufacturers (Vortech & Vishnu), there are the inherent cost risks associated with modifying and tuning any engine that also could exist above that $600 difference.

Perhaps that's why Shiv qualified his statement with the word "some" (above in bold green). I chose the Phantom ESC + Shiv's tune via OFT + OFH as it fit my budget and qualifying factors. I will upgrade once my needs reflect this. However the OFT300 has definitely got me reconsidering full-time FI, probably sooner than I thought I might.

No grinding, just some light filing which takes a few minutes. Mainly an aluminum nub and for the FRS a bit of plastic sticking out on the headlight for charge pipe clearance.

Other things done are the washer bottle replacement and some trimming of the plastic fenderliners for IC piping.

Really depends on what you see as reasonable vs unreasonable modification to install FI

Thanks for the awesome deal team OFT/Vishnu! I will need to save for a while before I can purchase... got beat-up by the tax man this year, or would otherwise purchase right away.

Not really seeing why there are some here complaining/whining about the offer... if you are an existing customer this is a great deal. We all know how a business runs. There has to be a profit margin to keep any business running else it will fail. We don't want to see Shiv and company fail.

Just to re-iterate, we don't not require that you have an OFH to qualify for the discounted pricing. But we do suggest that you have some sort of quality header (UEL or EL) in order to run our OTS OFT300 maps. The only requirement to quality for pricing is that you have purchased an OFT from us. If you don't have a OFT but want to get discount pricing on headers/Vortech/etc,. , I suppose you could buy one and then sell it in the classified. You'll probably loose $50 but could potentially see 10x that in savings on other parts you may need.

My vote goes for jackson racing S/C

More F/I period would be awesome though. Loving the OFT & glad I waited to get a tune! This deal alone makes me want to get the Vortech lol, and I was set on the J/R before

I have to say if they offered this I would be hard pressed to decide between the two. But I think the Innovate should have Phenolic (SP?) Spacers since they changed the manifold from a composite style plastic basically to aluminium and now it will attract moire heat. But that's just me looking at what i would do to the Innovate if I got it, I actually really like the Innovate but at the price point the Vortech would be my choice.

Are you aware of the differences between a Dynojet and a Mustang Dyno?

Also looks like your dyno operator may have used a wheelspeed factor instead of an actual ignition pick-up for RPM.

Lol dyno dynamics and mustang dynos read lower than dynojets... Way to jump the gun.

I'm aware of the differences. Maybe the way I posted the results some folks thought I was trying to make your results look bad? That's not simply the case. Just comparing dynojet numbers to mustang numbers. I know typically mustang dynos read low. In the end results are about the same. It's the curve that matters not the numbers.
