Keyed car, down to metal
I moved into a new gated apartment area 26 days ago and somebody already decided to key my car. It goes all the way to the metal, does anyone recommend those aerosol paint repair with the primer and clear coat. If so which website has the highest quality product if anyone has used it before that would be very helpful.
Or, should I take it to a shop |

Take it from me (I'm a professional detailer) take it to a reputable body shop in your area and have them repair it for you.

I would wait till the a' hole has it got it out of his/her system before repairs. You don't want to be repairing and then find it keyed again.
This kind of mindless damage to another person's property just infuriates me! |

My car got keyed last year. I thought it was to the bare metal but auto body shop owner told me it wasn't. Get a estimate from a reputable auto body shop. Then get it taken care of professionally as others have suggested. I got the 3 ft keyed mark on my car repaired.

Thank you everyone for replying. As for waiting... Not an option, they literally keyed a **** into the trunk and I can not drive around with that. I fucking hate people like that, I honesty rather then broken into my car and stole shit, at least they get something out of it instead of being a huge piece of shit
Eventually I feel like I need to get a dash cam with parking mode and an external battery. I was thinking for going with the thinkware 5770.. I'm just not sure if it will be able to record quality rear image through 5% tint at night time... Anybody have weigh in on dash cams? |

As someone who's been in the car dealership for over 3 years, I've seen lots of keyed cars. If it's really deep, which I'm assuming, just get it professionally done since it sounds like you prefer your car to look immaculate. Like the other guy said, professionally done is the way to go. I had a judge bring his outback in (2016) and it was keyed from end to end on both sides and asked if we could fix it. Yeah. No dice without painting the whole thing

I picked up a Thinkware F50 but I don't have it with parking mode. I did lots of research before I bought it. One of the guys in the local FT86 club recommended Thinkware. Get the car repaired and buy a dashcam. |

Back-in-the-day, we used to wire a car up with a model T coil.
Yep, one touch with a key would deter the jerks and limit the damage to a small burnt spot. Be careful not to step in the puddle of pee below the touched spot. If we could catch the a** hole, we would have fun with our cattle prods ...... humfrz |
