It looks like in from the photos you didn't stitch up the the 2 main rails running across the bottom of the floor pan. Is there a reason you left them alone?

That's a really good question.. Basically, I decided I'd leave the rest of the stitching until I've finished all the shell work. No point stitching a seam up then taking hours later to cut it out. I started stitching long before I decided to do all this mad stuff. Other questions might be.. "Why is the exhaust tunnel so wide" and "Why is the tunnel cut out so far back". The exhaust tunnel has room for a 4" pipe squashed a bit flat and the tunnel is cut back so far because at the end of the day, it'll probably have a 2JZ in it, cut back into the bulkhead and under the screen. I've seen some conversions where the exhaust is the lowest point on the car.. that's not for me I'm afraid.

So here's the completed job.
Now the dummy is bolted to temporary brackets and dowelled. It can be removed and replaced at will and I can design something to bolt to the 'box then design and weld some mounts into the shell. Lots of work, but better than putting the tranny in and out.

Thanks for the compliments guys, I think you're all gonna enjoy what's coming up as this car comes together.
Here we have pretty pic of my custom billet machined front turrets. These will get welded to the inner fender, a little further back to increase caster and they will obviously increase suspension travel and allow longer shocks on a very low ride height. I am also working on aero for this car and am conscious of the front being slightly higher and raked compared the floor of the car, so it needs to be flattened out on the bottom, as close as possible to the ground. I'm going level for the whole underside of he car, and may even go flat bottom if regs allow?? Thanks for dropping by, right now I'm working on getting the rake out and in turn bringing the nose down.

Flat Bottom is eventually where I want to go. My limiting factor being exhaust heat. I am also trying to find a good place for Diff/Trans coolers if I did it.

The exhaust could be taken care of with wrap and louvreing in designated areas. The diff and trans coolers could go right in front of the rear driveshafts with ducting from above.

What suspension are you going to use? I assume it's not going to be something off the shelf?

I currently have Ohlins R+T, ( The old "good" kit), which will get me started. Obviously I'll need something better, but choosing it right now is difficult. I really need the car finished and set up so I can judge what is required. Distribution should be around 50/50, but who knows??

So, the flat bottom has been added to the bumper, and now I'v brought the front down to be level with the floor as the stock cars bumper bottom is angled upwards towards the nose.. I guess so we don't destroy our front ends on kerbs and stuff??
NOTE.. The flange you see here is just a base to get my level from, I'm now deciding what to do style wise. Bring the scoop down to give a bigger opening or angle the base of the scoop down to retain the original opening?I may do an APR kind of design?? Any ideas, pics or suggestions would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks for looking in..

Fantastic work Nigel. Thanks for the updates, it's a pleasure to follow your progress.
6k springrates seems soft for a dedicated track car like this? Are you planning to run slicks or semis?
