No issues with the wires other than there being a little less slack to work with, but is definently doable without extending the wires.

5cm. Not 7cm.

It is exactly what you would expect; the steering wheel is 5cm closer to you, the control stalks are 5cm further from wheel.

Thank you, JDMJunkie

@churchx, sure thing Will let you know and send some pictures along the way. Regarding operating the steering column stalk, I'll try the Vertex Turn-Signal extensions -->

https://www.vertex-usa.com/media/cat...img_5725_2.jpg

Maybe down the road, if time will allow it, I'll design and manufacture my own version of the extensions.

Cheers

Or you could be like 90% of drivers and just not signal.

Boccacio: oh. Thanks for linking those. They seem to look well, adjustable. Clutch Dog had mentioned another extender, but it looked more bulky. I guess, extenders should fix what i am cautious if offsetting too much, to be able to operate stalks without taking hands of wheel. Stalks of course are usually non-used in sport (unless turn signals in local passing rules as on some tracks), mostly for daily driving (but which is of much longer mileage/time spent at), but if reviewers praise layout/ergonomics "enveloping driver", with everything "in right places", if some change it according specific use (eg. longer gearswitch lever for shorter travel between wheel & lever), if even this spacer is product to enhance ergonomics .. i simply didn't want that to be at expense of worsening it somewhere else. I'm used to think that it is bad driver's habit to switch them not with fingertips but with whole hand off wheel, so wouldn't want to be forced to do that myself due mod
EDIT
jsimon7777: twins are not bmw for that to be so . Also i guess it's specific country driving culture, here in LV it's 10% of drivers not turn-signaling. Also in addition to turn signals there is also switching far & low beams to not blind oncoming traffic in timely fashion that needs to be done many times during long cruise at night. And even in HPDE, as i mentioned above, there might be track-specific passing rules (to signal that you have noticed one overtaking and will keep on one side). Somewhere nothing, somewhere hand wave in opened window, somewhere - turn signal blip to opposite side.

@jsimon7777, like church already mentioned, I tend to not forget about the indicators, so they don't feel lonely and untouched like in a bmw :P

@churchx, my first experience with this spacer was in a friend's 996 C2. Even with my big hands, I struggled with the indicators, so for me, the extensions are a must.

If they happen to interfere with my steering wheel interaction during track driving, I'll just take them off

It all seems like a good reason to buy a 3D printer. An extension just isn't a difficult problem to solve. Making it out of metal is overkill. There's always rubber bands, glue, and popsicle sticks.

I'm combining the spacer with the Revolution/J.Luth steering wheel.

I still haven't had time to do mine (hopefully tomorrow), but I also have the same wheel branded as ATC. If I remember correctly, the aluminum center bracket that holds the airbag is the exact same in both the stock and extended wheels. So if their claim that you don't have to extend the wiring for the stock wheel holds, it should be the same for the J Luth/ATC/Keys wheel.

The "Vertex" extension is $30. From the pictures at least, I don't see any difference between that extension and these $8 and $11 extensions from Amazon. It looks like they bought them from the same Chinese supplier and just etched the "Vertex" name into the handle. A ~$20 difference in price isn't that big a deal, but why pay it if the product is exactly the same thing?

B Blesiya Practical Wheel Turn Signal Lever Position Up Kit Turn Rod Extension - Red

Ruien Aluminium Car Styling Adjustment Steering Wheel Turn Rod Extension Turn Signal Lever Position Up Kit

There are a whole bunch of these on Amazon ranging from $8 to $18. There's even one with the exact same design, but reproduced in plastic instead of aluminum.
