Rexing Dash Cam (V1) Hard Wire Kit
I bought this to have the Parking Monitoring Feature, which Amazon does a great job listing it like it is ready to use that feature, except they don't tell you that you also need to purchase the Hard wire Kit.
I purchased it, thanks amazon. The kit comes with "15A MINI TYPE FUSES" and after researching through the forums I have not found a definitive answer on; WHERE exactly I need to put those fuses in? What spot in the instrument Panel Fuse Box? Can I use a fuse slot that is not being taken? or do I need to use a fuse adapter that is already hooked up in the fuse box? If so, which one on the diagram?

I used slot #6. Forgot what that fuse location was for in the car but it stays powered on for the inline fuse adapter when using parking feature on dash cameras.

Rexing is extremely vague with the install and practically every detail. The description mentions, an output: 5V, 1.5A, Mini-USB Port and says "Note: The kit comes with a 15A Mini type fuse, you can connect your own fuse adapter if needed. " I see you have the add-a-fuse cable. Judging by the picture below, what else would I need to not Fry a 2015 BRZ battery?

I used: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Looks like yours has two wires for one on the always on fuse and another for the ignition switched on fuse. Not sure why that is but maybe has to do with the Rexing units? Mine is always powered on that #6 fuse and I shut it off at the unit itself when it's in the garage. It can be left on though without draining the battery as it only starts recording when it sees motion or it senses movement. Sometimes it's days before I drive but anytime somebody goes in the garage, it starts recording so I just just turn it off manually while in there. That cable pictured there is all you need. Power from fuse wire and ground wire to metal on car. The hardest part of install is just running the wire through the car up to the top of the window. |

Check out my blog post. I have some details on how I hardwired mine to the fuse box. TL;DR, use the STOP light fuse for always on, one of the two P.POINT fuses for switched power, and use the bolt at the bottom of the fuse box for ground.

Thanks guys, so it turns out I thought I need more parts than I actually do. I was confused with the Add-on Fuse cable. My kit comes with it ready to hook up, however I do understand the IF factor if the fuse blows.
-For anybody else buying this kit (2019), I had to buy (after the kit): 1. Hardwire Kit 2. Multimeter 3. Spare Fuse (I didn't have any laying around. This is just in order to test spots in the box.
