Does your FR-S/86 attract idiots wanting to race?

As the topic says, do you get the idiots in the Mustangs, Nissan Zs and every else pulling along side of you revving up their engines tempting you to race them? I wish I could pull them off the road and ask them how does a 5 year old like you have a driver's license?

Not around my town anymore. This was after a month of explaining its a grocery getter, slow car, mini van rival, and delicate. Total was about 46 explanations to both teens and adults.

First, you would need a car that could catch up to them.

Well, mine attracted me, and I want to race, so yeah, I guess.

It's all relative. You think our cars attract idiots who want to race. Other more expensive cars see cars such as ours and groups them with the Mustangs, WRX, M3 etc. etc .... That want to race. There's idiots at EVERY level of car. What determines if YOU are an idiot is how you respond to them.

This is going to sound like heresy, but the key to getting people to leave you alone is to keep your car dirty. A dirty car does not attract attention. A clean car is a magnet. A shiny spotless car is a sign of the owner's pride in his machine. That is exactly what the knucklehead Mustang drivers want to challenge. A shiny, clean car is a magnet for resentment (for those that feel resentful already). A shiny, clean sports car exponentially increases that resentment.

Even though I would prefer a shiny, clean car, it feels just as driver friendly, frisky and fun when it is dirty on the outside. If you bought the car to show off, then keep it clean - it is worth it to you. But, if you bought the car simply because you enjoy superb handling, rear-wheel drive and a crisp manual transmission - then try keeping it dusty. It is a lot more relaxing and, it is kind of fun, because only you notice how good the car is.

It is a double edge sword - I like the attention from people admiring the car, but, I don't want the hassle of the douchebags that want to race. If I'm going fast, it is because I am late for something. Although fast through some twisties might happen for fun. I Definitely barely get noticed when my car is dirty.
