For the same reason corvettes come in automatic....
That said I'm fine with sports cars selling with automatic transmissions as long as the manual version sells plenty and has a transmission that can be found in several other cars. As soon as this car reaches 20 years old or so the autos will be ripped out for manuals. Unless the next generation of enthusiasts decide to replace them with DCT or sequential or something else. |

this article is stupid
every major sports car this year has an auto option and almost all of them provide a faster car with better fuel economy than the standard option. if I had a GTR or a 911 turbo, there is no way in hell I could be pulling off shifts that were good enough to get sub 3 second and sub 4 second 0-60 respectively. auto's have their place in modern cars

1, this isnt a sports car. Its a cute little car that doesnt really excel at anything.
2, Real sports cars are putting paddles/DCT or other variants in their cars that actually shift faster than a true manual. So increasing performance.... I thought thats what a sports car was all about. |
