First FRS, aftermarket suggestions?
Hello all!
I'm an 18 year old university student from Ontario, and I've just purchased a 2013 FRS. It's completely stock, only 21,000 kms, and I'm purchasing from the original owner. I'm fairly new to this site, and my primary question is: What kind of modifications do people here think I should start looking into? I'm mostly curious as to where to find aftermarket parts for scion and subaru; is it mostly ebay, amazon, a more specific site I'm unaware of? I work at a car dealership, in the service department, but I'm very inexperienced when it comes to modifications like this. Any leads to where I should be looking for parts, or suggestions on actual parts would be highly appreciated. Even if you just want to say hello, I'm all ears. |

Maybe just drive the car if you don't know what to buy.
On a more helpful note, I bought the car, and a month later, I had it scraping on the ground. But my goal is to be low and slow. #stancelife |

Your money, your car, your choice.
Read more. Search more. Think to yourself. Look in the vendors forums. Go rocketbunny body kit and xxr wheels and works turbo kit. |

But to answer your question: -ebay will be largely knock-off or replica crap -amazon is spotty Try the following vendors: http://www.ft86speedfactory.com http://www.moto-east.com/store/ http://jdlautodesign.net/ http://www.diodedynamics.com/store/ http://counterspacegarage.com/ There are many more reputable places to get stuff. Take a look down in the vendor classifieds on this forum. |

You want to spice up the looks? Performance? You going to track or autocross it? You going to keep it a long time? What's your budget? It handles pretty darn good stock, so drive it, think about, research, look around, watch your budget. Lots of ways to spend, prioritize.. and enjoy! Great looking and fun car to drive!

Like others have said, first decide what you feel like you want to change. If you go changing bits based on what strangers on the internet think, you'll probably get sick of this car pretty quickly.
This car has such a large aftermarket that your only limitation on mods is the size of your wallet. If you want big power, you can easily spend $10,000+ on a Full Blown turbo kit and get 300hp on 93oct or 450hp+ on E85. If you don't need that much power, a bolt-on supercharger kit such as the Jackson Racing kit with CARB tune is a very nice all-in-one package for $5,000. If you are a bit less financially flamboyant, the best power-per-dollar mod will come from an aftermarket header & tune. The Open Flash Header (OFH) and tune (OFT) are a very popular option. The Tomei, Nameless, and P&L headers are also very good choices and community favorites. You can do your own research on catbacks, but generally speaking, you won't net very significant power gains from these. The extra noise is definitely a plus though. For suspension, aftermarket springs from brands like RCE, TRD, or Tein are all good choices. If you're willing to drop a bit more cash and and go with adjustable coilovers: KW, Bilstein, ST, and Stance are all good brands to check out depending on your willingness to spend. ft86speedfactory.com is a nice site with a good selection of parts. I've bought from them a few times and they have great customer service.

Stay stock as long as you can! It's all downhill from here. I haven't seen my FRS in 2 months because it's been in the shop with one problem after the next.

Get a Corolla for college. I had a ae86, 2006 corolla and pickup. That mpg will make a diff. Also, the more friends that fit in your car comfy, the more parties youll go to...least that was my case. Less gas money means more for extra curricular activities. Dont forget insurance.
