Well boys. Landed a new job. Won't be on here nearly as much since I'll actually have stuff to do instead of baby sitting a machine all day... RIP. Was good while it lasted. New employer is about 15 minute drive from the local track though!

Oh for fucks sake. The windows update (feature update, vet 1607) that I need to have in order for the GeForce driver (ie, the one I need to have in order for it to work properly) failed over night. I can't catch a break.

Go to Nvideas website and download their driver manager directly

Did that. It fails because "you don't have the current (or proper, can't remember) version of windows"

No, because the update has failed twice now. It restarts, goes through the progress bar, gets to 100% then says something went wrong, and reverts to pre-update state.

Might have to reinstall windows. Did you format your drive before install?

Yup. I saw that there was a windows script released for those having trouble with this update though. Got the script and ran it. Will see what happens.

Worst case I have to do a fresh install. No big deal.

Probably the Anniversary Update right? I had to do the same in order to get the dam thing to install on my older laptop.

There is another big one called Creators Update coming soon (hope they can add pen tilt to their stupid Surface Pen but probably not).

Worst case you should be able to slipstream the big update onto an install iso before running the fresh install.

Exactly the one. Looking at the update history, it tried to install 5 times overnight. And now, my GF's internet is being a bit of a bitch, so it's slow going. Oddly enough, I tried to tether my phone to get 19ish MB/s download speed for it (work pays my phone bill, so whatever) and in about 20 mins, it made no progress.

Just got out of the habit of checking after the holidays, and finally got the time to catch up today. No real insidious reason.
