Whiteline Suspension Upgrades!!!

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OKbZFknBzh8&hd=1"]Team VCMC FR-S - AutoX Video 4: Rear Crossmember and Swaybar - YouTube[/ame]

VCMC is proud to be officially sponsored by Whiteline Performance Suspension! To show off some of the fantastic products Whiteline has sent to us for testing, Team VCMC put together a side by side comparison of the rear suspension. One thing Team VCMC and a lot of people online noticed is just how much movement there was in the subframe during our previous video. Once we installed the Rear Crossmember Mount Insert Bushings we could feel the difference right away and you can see the difference in the video!

You'll also notice we changed from the stock 13mm rear swaybar to the Whiteline 16mm which lessens the body roll across the rear end and definitely activates more grip!!!

I TOTALLY understand your thoughts here. The front sway bar is a MUST imho.

The rear, I'm not sure about yet. Will have to do more testing and get back to you. With the stiffer rear sway bar I think we will need to change the setup (ride height, alignment) and get back to you.

I can say without a shadow of a doubt the rear subframe bushings are a massive improvement! Removing that variable makes tuning the rear suspension far easier, I HIGHLY recommend that for any FRS/BRZ planning to do motorsports.

Thanks Richard..
I have the Kartboy versions of the bushings...I am a Beta tester for him.....and Agreed....

the bars tho...it would seem you would have to re-balance everything ...and I have such a sweeet spot right now...I don't know how much faster It can make it??? honestly??? LMK what testing provides you for times...please..

Hey Bill!

Will do. Keep in mind our next event is Gymkhana and Drift, so lately we've been testing a rather slippery setup, so the new rear sway bar helps.

I had the chance to autox the car this weekend with some rather crap tires on so I can't take a whole of info from the day because the variables are so different.

Hopefully I'll have a chance to test a more 'apples to apples' setup soon and get back to you.... and anyone else who's interested too!

Scion Tuner Challenge Webisode #2!!!

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qLman0eKf9A&hd=1"]Challenge 2 - Who's got the skill: FR-S Tuner Challenge - YouTube[/ame]

The Challenge #2 video just went live!!! We were in Montreal Quebec for the ball in the cup challenge,c heck out the video!

Things definitely didn't go 100% to plan for Team VCMC at this event. We prepared the car to win autocross and didn't have the ability to make significant changes before this event. With the high spring rates and stiffer bushings installed in our FR-S, keeping the lite weight ball inside the cup was VERY difficult.

Team VCMC would like to congratulate Team Swag on taking the win, his slow and steady approach served him well!

As always keep up to date on our facebook: www.facebook.com/VCMCstc

Also don't forget to check out the Tuner Challenge website!! www.TunerChallenge.ca

Good job !

You got the rear sway installed, did you get the front as well ?

How does the car feel at higher speed turns ? Does it drift a little ?

We have both the front and rear swawbars from whiteline.

It definitely tightens up the rear a bit so you have to be more careful on throttle application.

The car isn't far from A&J right now :P Blitzgear has it for a couple days!

It feels like a LONG winter but Team VCMC has been really busy!!

Last year we had the chance to take our car to Edmonton and heave it around some cones. Unlike the autox challenge, however, gymkhana is spent outside peak grip conditions. Basically we slid around a lot!! Check out the Scion Canada video!

[ame]http://youtu.be/t0kdPxrpHKE[/ame]

In January, not long after filming the Drive feature, the Scion FR-S Tuner Challenge took us to the VERY cold ice racing course in Quebec. With minimal modifications to the car and VERY sensitive throttle we tried to tame the Mecaglisse ice racing course. This was some of the most technical and rewarding driving I've ever done, what a blast!! Check out the Scion Canada video!

[ame]http://youtu.be/RVzTngSrcZY[/ame]

COMING SOON!!!

In just a few days we will be announcing our biggest endeavor as a team and biggest challenge our FR-S will see this year! I don't want to spoil the party, but we will be using the Knox Mountain hillclimb in BC as testing for a rather large version in the US!!

If you want to stay up to with Team VCMC and our Turbo Scion FR-S please follow us at:
www.facebook.com/TeamVCMC

Also please check out www.TunerChallenge.ca for more info on the Tuner Challenge and the other teams!
