FRS/BRZ vs Ford Fiesta ST

I want to know about this comparison.. the Fiesta ST will be rated at 180hp, 177 ft/lb, I'm assuming its lighter and more nimble than the Focus ST (which puts it more in the line of FRS/BRZ handling), and will most likely be cheaper than the Focus and FRS/BRZ. I've kind of been waiting for this to come out ever since they released the Fiesta here.

No three-door version, no care. Those rear doors are dead weight IMHO.

Having owned a 2011 Fiesta Hatch someone can actually sit in the back seat. Hence making the doors functional and not necessarily dead weight.

Don't mind me, I'm just annoyed we don't get the three-door and Europe does.

At least give us the choice, Ford.

Agreed, not sure why they don't offer it.

The big difference between the two is that one is a sports car and one is a sporty car.

Tell that to all the Rallycross wins Fords been getting with the platform. Honestly a modded Fiesta ST would be a force to be reckoned IMO. To a lot of people the twins are a "sporty car" cause they feel it lacks the power a real sports car should have. Beauty's in the eye of the beholder I guess; I like both but prefer RWD.

You can take any production car and turn it into a race car. But last time I checked that had absolutely nothing to do with street legal stock production cars that you can buy.

When they say "torque-vectoring" front differential, I wonder if they mean brake-based like the Focus ST or GTI. And why can't they ever seem to stick a real limited-slip differential into these cars?

False, you can take any car and turn it into a FAST car; it takes a well set up chassis to make a car standout in the racing world as a solid platform with a lot of potential. The fiesta does that and so does the FRS. And last time I checked being a ****head had absolutely nothing to do with the thread title.

Yeah that's exactly what they mean. They're doing it that way to keep costs down mostly; minimizing cost and maximizing what the consumer gets from the vehicle has been Fords thing for roughly half a decade. They went from the hard plastic cheap everything with a good motor brand to cramming as much tech as they could for a great price. I'd be willing to say their whole line-up are all bang-for-the-buck deals.

C'mon, a race prepped ford with roll cage and naked interior vs a showroom car is far from being an argument that it's not just a "sporty car". The twins are far from sports car straight from the factory.

Prolly trying to assuage the know issues with past Foci and its relatives with respect to Torque Steer. Real bad with first gen Foci, not sure if driveshafts are equal length on the new ride or not? Real LSD's aren't incredibly consumer friendly.
