This is a line all of the dealerships will give you. "Never heard of this problem before." even if they've had 10 cars in today for it. They play stupid on purpose because if they tell you "oh yeah tons of cars have this problem" then they open themselves up to having to do a recall and all the negative press associated with that.

Appointment made and parts have been ordered. Bringing the car in on Tuesday to get it done. The tech mentioned that the new fuel pump changes the tone of the sound to be less sharp, but does not fully eliminate it. Just makes it more bearable. Will report back soon.

It is also cooler outside. Cause and effect come into play here. Let us know in July if still quiet.

In the fall, the crickets have settled down quite a bit. In the winter time my crickets are almost nonexistent. Spring to summer is mating season and they are loud. If this redesign is still quiet in the summer I'll jump on board and get it done. No use in getting it replaced when nothing is really wrong.

I haven't been around here in awhile (life going on, dammit!) and I gave up on any cricket fix a few years ago. I guess I just don't care anymore. I hear them sometimes and either turn up the tunes or revs.

After the multiple "fixes" for this, I have my doubts the latest will prove out over time.
