Thanks Rick, I am hoping it doesn't go into the wall at the local track. The plan is to build an Auto-X/HPDE/PDX car that retains it's daily drive ability

Nah, don't say that! What you meant to say is "I hope I crush everything out at the track with my crazy good driving skills and nimble car"

Sounds like an awesome car, I will keep checking this thread for updates

Thanks,
Rick

Today I installed the Status GT-X Racing seat. Since I am 6'5" I decided to hard mount the the seat to give me a little more head room. Also the stock seats were causing me a large amount of back pain on shorter road trips, so I hope this alleviate some of that (more support).

We had to slightly modify the bracket in an attempt to give me a little more leg room

The back two bolts are a little harder to get with large hands, so i had to get my dad to help out (I am home for labor day weekend).

Installed

I did not take head room pictures with the stock seats, but my head touched the roof. Here is a clearance shot with the GT-X

And testing with a Motorcycle helmet

Sorry about the shitty pictures, I left the 5D at the barracks so ya'll get camera phone and pictures from a borrowed 60D

If I read correctly you bolted the seat to the floor? Or did you get lowering seat rails?? HOw much further did you move the seat back? I'm asking because I plan on installing racing seats and lowering seat rails to get more leg room for steering wheel clearance when covering the brake.
