Cleaning Alcantara Seats

I had a friend ride passenger at a track day this weekend at Road America. He got sick coming down into turn 5 and I couldn't get the car stopped safely fast enough in the runoff to let him out. He threw up all over the interior and helmet.

I wiped it up right away with wet shop towels. It's mostly gone, but there is a faint ghostly outline. Anyone know a proper way to clean alcantara? I know any chemical stuff could be bad.

Thanks!

Soap and water. But alcantara is actually pretty tough stuff, when I wrap stuff if i get a gob of glue overspray on the good side I have used Wax and Grease remover to take it off without any damage to the fabric, just follow it up with soap and water.

Welp, I also suggest warm, soapy water ..... then rinse with just water.

Oh, yes, you may wish to purchase a supply of air sickness bags for your co-pilots ......

Probably a silly question, but any particular type of carpet/interior shampoo or soap?

Nope, it's not recommended. But there is info on some specific product on the Alcantara site.

It has been my experience that you can use a mild dish soap to clean alcantara.

After all, it consists of roughly 68% polyester and 32% polyurethane.

Just use a very dilute solution of warm water and a mild dish soap, apply sparingly and lightly rinse with a microfiber cloth.

OR

You can buy that expensive store bought stuff.

OR

Mothers spit on a hankie will work in a pinch.

I used AMMO Shag Carpet Cleaner on mine. Turned out amazing. Very easy product to use and the fabric came back perfect.

Woolite diluted in water and a microfiber towel are what I used to clean my seats.

Then don't buy it. It's not like you spend $18 and it only lasts for one seat. You get what you pay for. I used standard carpet cleaner on some seats and they came out OK but the AMMO stuff produced far better results.
