I'd think it's a generally bad idea. I'd pack up the laptop or just always refill at a 1/4 tank or higher. Can always reflash to pumpgas then flash back to E85 when it's convenient. I keep a 5 gal tank of E85 at home filled to the brim and with an airtight seal. Less hassle / worries and a little peace of mind. Can't wait for the flexfuel tune!

You can run a drive the car normal with the wrong map / tune on it.

Won't hurt it - but if you start going WOT you'll have problems at some point

Anyways been busy preparing the Group Buy kits.

Basically settings things up so when you get your cable you won't need to wait for me on anything. Tune file will already be in the EcuTek Case on a flash drive waiting for you along with the EcuTek App Loader Software.

I think a few are waiting on updated tunes to fix the bog? right?

Doing that right now

Any luck with the dealer upgraded flash that I had installed on my ecu? Still blown away by this flash. Also getting about 23mpg compared to 24 mpg with the stock ecu.

Just got my stg1 paid off, maybe I'll upgrade to e85 sometime before the cables ship! All the folks playing with that have been getting me hyped about it, but still debating whether I should wait for the flex fuel option since LA is a big town with not a ton of e85 stations. Anywho thanks John for all your hard work, psyched to gt my hands on it! EcuTek seems to have a bright future in the Twins.

My guess is though at some point with the wrong fuel
for tune you'll say go and car will say no go? Will just bog or cel / limp mode?

Edit: video I saw of guy running e85 on stock tune was enough for me, curious people's experience on this. Would love to have a safety net going the other way around, gas on E85 tune.

Wow, that is so simple and smart lol. Putting the maps on a flash drive with the box?! I would think/hope that makes life a heck of a lot easier for you. Good move. What do I have to do to get your most recent 91 octane map? I'm running 1.02 and have done a filter, catback, and pulley so far. Love the tune but I want to stay current!

I hope @Visconti will correct me if I'm wrong, but I recall him saying that the current version doesn't have enough difference from 1.02 to bother with the update. Once the next major revision is out he will be issuing updates to everyone.

Not here yet, and probably delayed..again. I was told this Friday but as of yesterday it was not at the dealer yet. So I do not see it getting there, PDI'd and cleaned up for me before the weekend. Maybe I will be surprised? I am starting to dream about my car - it has gotten that bad.

I will need to put on my 1000+km quick to get it ready for my flash! Which I am SUPER pumped for. Plus I have the Airaid intake so I will need the flash that "fixes the bog" too. I am excited for my car, enough things ordered to hopefully give it the nice 20-30hp bump that it deserves.

I was on 600km when I flashed. Still driving careful though.
