DTC Codes

Anyone ever experience DTC Codes U0122 and U0131 after going FI and a tune?

Lost Communication to Vehicle Dynamic Control Module (U0122)
Lost Communication to Power Steering Control Module (U0131)

you get that occasionally after flashing as during the flash process comms to other modules in car are shut down.

Just clear the codes, if it causes limp home(low power mode) mode you may have to remove battery terminal for a few minutes to reset all modules in car.

you will have to clear the codes with something eg Android Torque app, Techstream, of your flashing device/software may offer a DTC/CEL code clearing option.

If not once flashing completed remove battery cable for a few minutes.

Hate to necro this thread but this is one of the few threads that mentions this issue.
@pleong, did you ever figure out what the issue was?

My Black FRS has both U0122 and U0131. Pretty much every light in the dash is on (ABS, EPS, Slip, Trac, CEL, Cruise, etc) It was totaled in an front end collision about 8 months back and the accident severed about 10 of the wires going to the ABS Module. I figured that was what caused the limp mode and the EPS failure etc. However, I did not run the code after the accident. Now, 8 months later, I am repairing the car. The car sat with a completely dead battery for months so I'm not sure if the U0122 code came after the ABS damage or after sitting without power.

I have since repaired the ABS Wiring, but the codes have persisted. The car is still also in limp mode but that might be due to the fact that the MAF needs to be replaced, as well as both O2 Sensors. I'm assuming that the car needs to be driven around a bit (?) for the ECU to figure things out, but I'm not sure. I still need to replace the front impact sensors, drivers airbag, seatbelt, and the Airbag Control Module, so I'm not sure if those are contributing the issue.

There's a lot to do on the car, so the answer likely won't become apparent until I've fixed most of the problems, but I figured I'd mention this on here in case anyone had seen similar issues.

Sorry I don't have a specific solution for this. I honestly didn't pay it any attention.. Car has been running pretty flawlessly since my post. I think I still have those codes Bc I see them whenever I flash a tune on ecutek.

Your power steering doesn't turn off when the code is on?

Interesting. Perhaps my EPS not working is due to another issue then? I'll keep researching!

Nah, unfortunately this car is in Illinois. Regardless, I doubt I damaged the EPS Motor or ECU. I'm sure once I start putting the car back together, the ECU will wise up

I'll keep your offer in mind though in case it is the EPS!

After much contemplation and calculation....

I'VE FIGURED IT OUT!

Turns out it was just the ECU IGN1 fuse in the under-dash fuse box. Now my VDC system works, Power Steering works, and my windows work. Funny how much a little 10A fuse controls.

Now to get a front end on the car...
