I’ve got a 2013 with 60K miles on it, and have tracked it about 15 days a year for the past couple of years. Runs like a top - no issues at all. I have not changed coil packs yet. Power train is stock except for an OFT E85 tune. (Hopefully I didn’t just jinx myself). 2013’s may have statistically more issues but they are by no means a sure failure.

New to STX this coming year.
I'm aware this will take some individual tuning, but just as a starting point, what pressures are you guys settling on for 255 re71rs?

As low as 25psi, as high as 29psi (if I remember right). Usually ~1psi lower in the back. I've run 245's the last 2 years, 255's my first 2, but will be back to 255's now that I ended up 'upgrading' to a '17 from a '14 (will be the first set of tires I've purchased since that happened...)

Whatever my pyrometer dictates. :-) 28-32psi is usually the landing zone after I review temps.

Is there a functional reason most seem to go with a 17x9 et35 vs a 17x9 et45? I was planning on joining stx and slowly building the car up. I just bought coilovers then saw a smoking deal on 17x9 et 45 wheels which I also had to buy.

The 35 offset wheels can fit most of the front brake kits (like the AP Sprint kit). The 45 offset wheels will not, at least not without spacers. You also get a slightly wider track width or more flush (bro) with the 35 offset.

What's everyone's exhaust setup?
Currently running Gruppe-S headers and OP with stock hardware the rest of the way back. Looking for something for something a little lighter, but don't want anything that is in your face loud.

A few lbs is possible... But much more and quiet is the rare Ti or custom build. Check the exhaust weight thread. I haven't found much more data outside that To address the question, Ace350, 3" catted/resonated FP (about the same as stock I think), Thermal CBE (only -2.5lbs, was told 10... oh well)

Also in for exhaust suggestions, tried Nameless Axleback (muffled Dual Exit) and did not like, moderately tempted by TRD, Perrin 2.5" Resonated, or CSG MXP but mostly for jack clearance, not too disappointed by the stock muffler but I'm secretly an old man. Anything quiet is within 10 lbs of stock anyway so I'm just going to not spend money and just keep an eye out for a ridiculous deal on one of those used and local and try and lose weight instead. And maybe take a hammer to the stock muffler for that jack clearance. |

Perrin 2.5" resonated sounds good and is decent for weight. Makes zero difference with exhaust weight, it's low and centered anyway.
+35-40 is the sweet spot for offset, I have the TR C4's. It did rub with +35 rear & 245's so went to +40 there. 5mm spacers and extended studs gives you options. |

Has anyone else had issues with the whiteline rear upper control arm camber bushings?
I installed them myself (bit of a pain but doable), however my alignment guys is having some issues. I was having the car corner balanced and aligned (by a local, reputable, race-oriented shop), and he found it impossible to corner balance the car because the bushings create enough friction to make it impossible to get the corner weights to settle right after making ride height adjustments. I don't know if this is a common issue, but from this experience I'd recommend staying away from them because you'll wind up (like me) with a car that can be aligned, but not corner balanced.

If you want light you've gotta pay for titanium. Otherwise you're trading noise for weight. You know that quality, cost, speed triangle? Well for car parts it's quality, cost, performance.
