No tire size width limits for stock class. As long as it fits on a stock-sized wheel (with rule allowances) any width goes. There is a tire/rim width limit in Street Touring classes, but not a diameter. There are a couple of threads in the Autox general section, rather than the NorCA specific group. I plan on 235's for autox when the stock tires are gone.

To clarify the NORCAL UFO Autocross situation with the Marina location: UFO is waiting for the yearly permit process to be done which we hope will be in time for the 24th of February UFO event. We will post up as soon as we have the permit / contract in place and know positively that the event is on.
Others using the site in the mean time are operating on a temporary permit which was not in place in time for our January events.

Thanks a million,
Peggy

Hmm, hope that's just a formality. Though Marina is a bit of a drive for me, I always enjoyed the events there. It's relatively flat (though slippery) and usually less people show up.. which means more/extra runs!

Autox at Oakland 2/10

Info here:
http://www.sfr-solo.org/solo2/Result...nd01_info.html

Looks like novice classes run first.

If that's too early for you, at least stop by and watch. We don't get too many events this convenient.

Do I need to be a SCCA member?

A little last minute but thanks! Live close by but have not made any prep, so I might just show up and watch/volunteer.

Yes. You can buy a weekend membership onsite for $15. Tons of newbies buy weekend memberships. Here are the upcoming events over the next couple of months:

1. Boondoggle: February 10th, Oakland
2. March 10, Marina
3. March 17, Oakland
4. April 21, Oakland
5. May 5, Oakland
6. June 9, Oakland
7. June 30, Marina
8. July 21, Oakland
9. August 18, Marina

It's easier (and cheaper in the long run) to buy a regular membership. The full year is $90, I think, and you can count a recent weekend membership toward the cost. That gets you into any SCCA autocross, anywhere, at the member price, plus Sportscar magazine. Plus some insurance benefits if you ever get mowed down by a novice.

If you're 24 or under, the rate is $45 a year.

SFR region does 10-12 events a year, and there are regions in Sacramento, Reno, Fresno, LA and SD, probably even more in between. If you like to autocross, it can save you a bunch of money.

You also can enter things like the San Diego National Tour (at the end of March) and the El Toro Pro Solo (April) and even Solo Nationals (September) if you want big-time competition.

Otherwise you will pay $15 every weekend you want to race with SCCA clubs.

Blaine, come out and play. I bought a set of the new Direzzas ...

I'm thinking about buying a membership, I'm not sure what the longevity of Marina is going forward.

I've been a little under the weather this weekend but I'll be doing some Oakland events for sure. How does it work time wise? When do I show up ect?

I might come out and watch/take pics. Morning run groups would have to arrive by 730 to walk the course? What class is the Ft86 in? ES or CS?? Those run groups are later but I guess reg closes by noon.
