I don't think the offset plate looks cool, I just have no desire to drill holes or zip-tie anything to the grill. I've never seen that angled rear plate fad, for which I'm rather grateful. |

When I was at a car wash, I saw a guy with a blue Kouki 86 that mounted his plate down on the grille. Wish I wrote down how he secured it. Said something about brackets from Home Depot. It looked awesome and I wanna do the same.
Where are you, scarborough car wash dude?

No one cared about mounting it offset until 1) the Lancer Evolution VII came out in the US, and 2) manufacturers started mounting tow hooks off-center with a cover on the bumper.

I use the Perrin offset just to mess with peoples OCD.
Such immense satisfaction overrides any other consideration. My '95 Dodge Grand Caravan came stock with an offset front plate.

And I bet that as I'm typing this, there is at least a handful of people on other threads freaking out about seeing 250F+ oil temps and dropping huge money on oil coolers. |

Still way more surface area than many, many cars with much larger engines and cooling requirements. Like I said cars with other coolers added and being pushed hard would be a totally different matter.

But it is more of a pain to swap at the track if you don't want to scratch your bumper cuz you have to pull the place and mount off before pulling the rod. Mine is already jacked so I leave the plate and just remove the whole thing at once lol. The Raceseng one would be a great option for a car pulling double duty street/track if you can cough up the $$$ |

Lol, you should our engine bays. They make good stuff. Hood struts are awesome, tool tray/pulley cover is useful, bling stuff looks nice. Just wish their damn intake would fit with an oil cooler like it was supposed to cuz I'm using it for an awkward paperweight atm |
