FYI, you can test for leaks without driving. You just need to peak out the oil pressure by reving up the motor above 3k RPM. Test that way before driving.

On a side note the new adapter appears to have O-Ring fittings and not a machined surface for a banjo and crush washers. Am I missing something?

Not trolling here... genuinely curious. "Our own" has lost all meaning with so many parts being made overseas.

I'd like to see a shot of these parts after installation. If they're using crush washers directly against what looks like a shot-peened and bright anodized surface then I wouldn't be surprised by a leak. If using an o-ring + perch design similar to Earl's/Aeroquip/Frajola then I'd be curious to know exactly where the banjos are leaking. But, Earl's/AQP/FPS banjos are $60+ retail each, so I highly doubt they're using anything similar. It would be more cost effective to use 45° hose ends with straight -8 AN to NPT adapters.

.

i am glad that OP got replacement and fixed issues. i onced ordered Mishimoto Thermostat for my RSX-S when i upgraded radiator to Koyo long time ago. part# was correct but it just didn't fit right when i compared to OEM one. I couldnt wait for replacement so had to return it. (no problem with returning!) I also heard Mishimoto customer service was good but sound like this Pat guy is an ass.

These banjo fittings were designed and engineered by our engineers at our facility in New Castle, DE. They are manufactured at our facility in China where we have a team of employees who oversee the implementation of our designs and perform quality control checks.

Appreciate the honesty. So sad there are so few companies still making stuff in the US of A, BUT completely understand it. There are very little products that can compete being built in USA with other being made in China. I wish someday this would come back around and manufacturing comes back here.

Designed by Apple in California
Designed by Mishimoto in Deleware

Gotta love it.

Unfortunately the reality of this is that Americans expect to be paid fair wages but when its time to spend that hard earned money, they do not want to pay the higher retail prices a fair wage requires. Sad but true!

Now back in 2004 when I started Element Tuning, I made a huge effort to manufacture a number of parts in the USA but it was like pulling teeth and many US manufactures weren't as eager to do business as overseas factories. Lazy, arrogant, call it what you want but I ended up with overseas manufacturing because they made it easy for me.

Fast forward a few years when the economy tanked, volume slowed down, and the next thing I know my designs are re-branded and sold. Luckily all of a sudden American manufacturers were hungry and eager to do business again and now the majority of what we make/sell is manufactured in the USA.

Anyways I've always had good luck with Mishimoto radiators and intercoolers so hopefully the oil cooler stuff is sorted out.

MISHIMOTO OIL COOLER IS A FIRE HAZARD!!

I fully agree 100% with 37 on the 90 degree fittings being a far better and reliable solution.

Just wanted to say I had te exact same problems installing my kit on Friday. After reading all te info on this thread and talking to mishimoto it's installed leak free. Te real pitta was ripping everything apart including under panels to degrease them lol. My engine bay is noticeablely cooler when I pop the hood.

I de greased my car from front bumper to tail lights and everything in between. We used 6 cans of brake cleaner on the underside of my car just to be sure it was all gone.

The good news is that the undercarriage of my car has never been so clean. I'm ready to drive over the camera at Barrett Jackson now!!

Brandon, now that I have the updated parts I can wholeheartedly recommend this oil cooler. I took my car out the other day for 40 minutes of hard driving. Highest oil temp I saw was 183 and average around 170. I used to be at 225-235 every single day. 235-170 is a 65 degree difference!! I used to crave cool days as my car ran the best on those days. I honestly thought it was mainly due to denser air and lower IAT. Now I think it's a combination as my car feels so much more consistent and solid now.

Truly a believer in oil coolers for these cars!! Buy one man!! You need it down here trust me!!
