The Mule

and I also found a article (speculation) that the US civics will get the Type R- motor (or at least a de-tuned version) for the Si so if this is true I can mean a few things.

-Type-R

-Si

-SiR (joking)

I'm not sure this is officially record for type R, but 7:50:63 is damn fast on the track compare bunch of top notch cars. I hope toyobaru going to come up with a version to response, or do something. The current twin I see from the track list is at 9 ish mark. God damn.

I think it's been posted before, but:

Car Throttle is a joke, but it's still pretty cool

You need to take into consideration that they use those lap times to sell cars, and they throw a lot of money into beating a competitors time.

How stock was the car and how many engineers/days did they spend to get that time?
How much of that car will we actually get?

I hate Hondas due to many young bucks ricing them out; before you flame, first car was a 89 Honda Accord LX 5spd, then a 92 Civic VX Hatch, then a 96 Integra LS, then a 97 Integra LS. However, I would buy the new CTR if it does come to the US. I would trade in my WRX or BRZ if I buy one before then.

Because the CTR has 4 doors, it makes it non-sporty. Okay there.
It doesn't make it non sporty - It makes it not a sports car - Which a CTR would never be in the first place. Of course a CTR is a "sporty" car, no one's arguing that a four door FWD sedan that can keep up with a STi isn't sporty. It's just not a sports car.

CTR is a hot hatch

a sporty hatchback that can be fun, quick, and sporty, while at the same time allotting you enough space to carry more than groceries.

All Toyota need to do is FI the 86 with matching power on paper, throw in better tires, tweak the suspension, big brakes, better aero and a $40k window sticker.

Sure. And all Honda needs to do is make a RWD Integra Type R with a K22 and a 7 speed manual and throw a 40k sticker on it.

EXACTLY BECAUSE WHAT EXACTLY IS MONEY AND MARKET INVESTMENT?

seriously though, the reason why the twins won't be FI has been stated time and time again but i'll make a bulleted list.
  • cost: both to the company and consumer
  • turbos have lag: N/A was chosen for imediate trottle response
  • the 86/BRZ were never designed to beat records, they were built to be fun cheap cars that can be made fast if the consumer so desires. Think "blank canvas."

I know 7:50 is pretty high but looking at how it competes in the fastest lap time is jaw dropping... It's pretty much into super car territory.
