My first round of upgrades
I have just finished my first round of upgrades with the help of the nice folks at TopSpeed Motorsports in Alpharetta Ga. The upgrades include:
HKS EL Header HKS Legamax Exhaust AEM Intake Grimm Speed Strut bar Custom ECU Tuning on the Dyno I also had the Differential and Gearbox oil changed to nice Motul synthetic gearbox oil I Was also going to add a Perrin Crank pulley, but the tuner didn't like the quality and wobble that it added In the end.......Normally aspirated and from starting WHP of 166.08 to 200.75 WHP on 93 octane. It's also fairly quiet too. I did not want to attract cops when I drove by them. |

Catted or non catted HKS header, which you get?

I chose the non-catted version. Last edited by MonkeyBoy; 01-14-2014 at 08:43 AM. |

That's pretty crazy you gained you that much whp from basic bolt ons. Congrats! Do you have a dyno graph you could post?

The HKS EL header + HKS Legamax exhaust appear to be a good combo on this car. The guy who ran 13's NA was also using this combo and made 195 whp I believe.

Very impressive. How long have you had this on car? Can you speak to gas mileage?

I have about 12k miles, and was averaging just under 28 (27.8) MPG. I tend to have a lead foot. If I drove more resonably I'm sure it would be much better. Essentially the mods gave 40% for Air in the front, 40% more flow out the back. This would make the engine run lean. So the ECU tune allowed for more fuel when needed to handle the extra Air. Under normal driving this shouldn't change the milage much, just under heavy load. But, more air + More fuel = More power. Last edited by MonkeyBoy; 01-14-2014 at 02:03 PM. |

Yes, I do. It's a scanned in Dyno Graph. I have a cleaner one coming later from Topspeed that will be easier to read.
