Please also note...brake disc thermal mass plays into longevity. That's why we have multiple kits to cater to differing needs. My hunch is that the Brembo disc weighs about 20-21 lbs. Our 299x32mm iron ring weighs 10.71 lbs., or roughly half. A far more apples-to-apples comparison would be the 325x32mm disc from our Endurance Kit, since the Brembo disc to which you are comparing is 326x30mm. Even if everything wasn't changed (pad, suspension, driving style), you can't realistically compare a disc to one that weighs half as much. If our disc lasts anywhere remotely as long as one with twice its mass, it is still a huge win for the lighter one!

10lbs of outer rotating mass is huge! So you may have to change the outer ring out more often for that performance advantage.

OE is 23lbs.

Full Sprint kit on the same scales was 20lbs.

Okay...so we've established that a disc that weighs more than our entire Sprint Brake Kit may potentially last a little bit longer.

I can guarantee you that the 16 lbs. 325x32mm disc in our Endurance Kit will last far longer than that Brembo disc under just about any conditions, even though it is still 7 lbs. lighter. The discs in our Endurance Kit are a beast. We've run them on 700hp cars that are heavy on brakes. Lots of examples on our blog: https://www.essexparts.com/news-blog

Here's a DMN Racing time attack Lancer Evo running our CP8350/325x32mm kit, laying down over 600 to the wheels. These are the same components used in our FT86 Endurance Kit. If you run our Endurance Kit on an 86 at anywhere near OEM power levels, I'd expect them to last a ridiculously long time.

Hi to all,
I need to change rotors and pads on the PP Brembo.

For the front ok, DBA rotors and pads compatible with the STI.
For the rear? The rotors are the same as the STI? And the pads?

Thanks!

Honestly I wouldn't waste your money on DBA's. Here's the part numbers for Centric high carbon content blanks for the PP cars.

Fronts: CENTRIC 125.47019
Rears: CENTRIC 125.47043

Take the hundreds that you save from not buying DBA's and put them towards more track days or a vacation.

Oh good, i thought that only DBA made a replacement!
What about the rear pads? Some vendors told me that are the same as the non brembo brakes but i don't trust them...

Oh yeah, that's definitely not right lol. Here's the part numbers for the Brembo OE replacement pads:

Front: Brembo P54039N
Rear: Brembo P56048N

Whoever those vendors are must not be knowledgeable on any racing BBK or Brembo style OE kit. The caliper is designed so that the pads can be removed without removing the rotor or unbolting the caliper, unlike the non-PP cars which are a traditional style caliper.

Thanks!

Wrong on the rears. The bolt pattern and size will match but the hub size on the rotor is off. Fronts any 2004 sti rotor will work. For rears centric now has blanks for rear PP rembos

If anyone has done a conversion on the fronts, would you know if the PP has a different design for the front dust shields? Or modified 13-16 Base shields to fit (other than removing them completely). Subaru parts diagrams showing conflicting info. Seems to have 4 part numbers across various diagrams

I'm leaning toward PNs: 26290CA020 and 26290CA030

I have a set of Brembo GTs I'm preparing to install

Are the PP Brembo calipers identical to the Brembo GT calipers?

Identical? No, but they are close for the 326mm rotor option

GT calipers are a little wider but shorter and overall are a little lighter than PP. GT calipers have an adapter to radial mount, while PP mount axially like base calipers.

The piston sizes are also slightly different (but not by much). The GT Calipers are targeted for balance with base rears or GT rears. The PP calipers are targeted for balance with PP rears. Based on rough brake bias calculator numbers, it seems like balance for either GT or PP front-only with base rear is pretty decent.

They can use the same pads and rotors.
