Yep. There was more than one reason I didn't change the oil in my brokeass junker driving days.

Yep, and if they started burning oil, just put heavier oil in them -

That was also a case for not grinding the valves, increasing the compression just caused more oil burning -

Yeah, my MR2 had the original 1zz. Thing leaked if it sat for more than a day or 2, driving it the leak would go away lol. Another MR2 buddy had the same thing

As far as I know, where I live, this is the list of ways to heat our houses, sorted by most expensive to least:

* Electricity
* Fuel-oil (it's a kind of petrol, they call it like that here..)
* Natural gas

And this is the list of ways to move a car, sorted by the most expensive to least:

* Diesel and petrol
* Natural gas
* Electricity

Electricity is best in one, worst in the other. Why?

I hope this is not a very stupid question, and I'm not wrong about the sort orders.

Short version.
Electricity is very efficient at turning motors but horrible for creating heat.
Gas/petrol is very efficient at creating heat and horrible for turning motors.

You have to throw in another couple of variables, like how expensive and polluting it is to make electricity storage devices, and the cost of power to fill it where you live.

A gal I used to work with in California spent about $80 a month commuting in her gas powered Honda, and about $320 a month in electricity doing the same commute in a Leaf.
