E85 locations

Hi guys,

I know that Caltex and United list some of their E85 sites but I have found the info is not that accurate. I will shortly be taking a trip down to Sydney from thhe Gold Coast and would love to know for sure where I can find this fuel so if anyone has any personal knowledge I would be grateful.

For info, on the northern end of the coast E85 can be found at

1. Caltex, Upper Coomera near the new Masters
2. United, Brisbane Rd Labrador, same side of road as AB Paterson school.

So can't you just switch from E85 to premium unleaded? Or does the ecu need to be retuned?

Yep, I can switch between the two (simple flick of the cruise control lever) but I like the extra power of the E85 so like running it wherever possible. :happy0180:

I was just thinking if you are driving to Sydney then you are really just going to be cruising 95% of the time so you wouldnt use the performance.

True, but the fuel is cheaper anyway so it is almost 'free' power and the car is totally transformed for overtaking etc., and runs much better with more torque and ponies. The difference between my car as standard opposed to on E85 is like night and day.

Sorry gonna have to disagree on that , technically the initial price is cheaper, but you get less kms to a tank so its actually more expensive .

It costs half if premium but only 25-30% more is used. Still cheaper in the long run.
