How do you get away with UEL headers when there's emissions every 2 years? Do you swap every time during the tests?

160 wheel + 90 wheel = 250 wheel. I could live with that, but I'm looking 280-300 wheel. You think clutch or tranny can keep up?

Fully built FA20 = a lot of money. But, how much are rods and cams including labor anyway?

Racing like beat a Mustang GT at the light. Driving past retards in VA. Killing backroads like a wannabe Porsche. Downshift revmatching in every 2 out of 5 stops. So no tracking, no autocrossing, no drifting. Just a fun daily driver.

Take it 1 step at a time. If you don't want to throw $10k+ at the car right now, then you don't want to go forced induction, as that is what anything will cost at minimum.

First thing to do is talk to Ptuning realistically. They are good people, they've been tuning all sorts of cars forever.

The second thing is you need to realize you need to drive the 86 like you hate it. Rev the ever living crap out of it, as that is where all the power is.

I'd then take baby steps. e85, header, and tune are the first steps. Then drive it like that for a while.

Oh and issues. The engine can last to 250 but by 300 they are almost always timebombs. The transmission always chokes around 290 or sometimes a little more. There is a reason the people who crave big power almost always swap engines.
Only thing stopping me from getting the UEL headers is I heard it doesn't pass emissions.

I was going to ask the same after reading this shit show of a thread.

This is why I try not to help these asshats.

Ummmm none of the things you asked about will pass emissions. You are asking about turbo but rule out a header?

Emissions every year for me, and its just OBD-II and "visual, a tune pretty much covers that. If you asking that question I don't know how you expect to go FI...

From what I've read here on the forum, the clutch and transmission could hold 250 wheel HP, if you didn't beat up on them. A stronger clutch would be recommended by some folks.
