I would. I'm happier with it now than when I first bought it. 38K miles, no issues, and it feels stronger than when it was new.

These cars have the heart of Subaru and the soul of Toyota,so reliability shouldn't be an issue.

As for would I buy one again? Probably not. I love my FR-S,and haven't had a single issue with it,but flatout, I want an AWD car with a little more power. That's why I'm waiting on the next gen STI.

I dont know if driving for 2 years count as several but so far its a resounding "yes" from me. I know I'm not in the honeymoon phase because I'm not so crazy with keeping the car clean and etc, but when I had considered trading the car in for another vehicle, nothing else felt quite the same. There weren't any other vehicles that gave me the same/similar driving feel or seating position. Not to mention I still feel that the exterior car design is one of the best, if not the best, in its price segment.

I see opinions a polar here. I think I'd been in these shoes already while owning the Prelude. A bunch of owners praising the car, but then another bunch bashing it for lack of power (~200hp), being FWD, heavy, undertired, people who mostly drive it around, etc... Some part out of those praising the car were rather trying to convince themselves.... Argh...

If I didn't need the rear seats - then the Miata would've been pretty easy to choose. Mustang V6 then? Is it reliable?

But I think the point of this thread is totally different; a test drive could feel one way, the OP wants to know how you feel after months/years of owning the car.

That said, I thought the car was 'ok' on the test drive, until I slept on the purchase and went back for another test drive, on back roads. And then I knew I wanted the car, but after living with it for years and doing some minor power/handling upgrades, I absolutely love it. I enjoy it everyday and wouldn't want another car. Sure the Focus/Fiesta ST are faster, but they dont feel like a sports car. I wouldn't be caught dead in a WRX or an STi. Mustang? no. Camaro? maybe, but too big...if mine was totaled today, I would go out and buy a 2016 FRS in a second, I dont like the GT86 front end.

Yes, my brz got totaled in a car accident a few weeks ago and now I am getting another. I test drove other cars like the 335i which is quick as hell but didn't feel connected to the road as how the 86 made me feel and didn't like the handling, also test drove a 370, fun car good power, engine sounds amazing, feels similar to an 86 in a way but felt as if the 370 was taking control, if that makes sense lol. Nothing beats the 86 in handling for the price imo.
Definitely can't wait to get another brz or frs!

39K, and feel exactly the same. Weird how it seems to pull harder now. Also, I've gotten handy enough with high-rev shifting that my desire for boost is gone.

Yes there are faster, more luxurious and more practical cars out there, but very few offer the blend that the Twins do. Just enough of everything you need.

Before my FR-S, I had driven nothing but Hondas for the previous 25 years. Honda makes fantastic engines and compared to them, the FA20 seemed sluggish and stiff. But I'd say somewhere around the 14K mile mark, it really seemed to start limbering up and became much more free revving. Maybe I just forgot how my Hondas felt (although I still drive my daughter's Civic from time to time), but I no longer feel I'm missing anything.



I also try to keep it above 4000 rpm most of the time. 3rd has become my tool around town gear. Sure, I'm wasting gas, but I didn't buy this car for the fuel economy. I still get around 26 mpg by the display, if you trust that.

Given if I have the same budget for a new car...it would either be the twins or a MX5.

Honestly I would buy it again though I do wish it would offer a GTS version with a little more displacement.
