Engine swap questions

Why does the Nissan SR20DET engine seem to be a must-have engine in the twins by modders? wouldn't the newer version (VQ37VHR, found in the 370z) be a better choice?

The SR20 is an ODB1 engine, and just plain old now (the newest example is over 14 years old now). I can understand the swaps like the 2JZ where they get 900bhp and crazy torque, but even then, they're both really old engines.

I haven't seen anyone drop an sr20 into an ft86. Most of the swaps are either a 2jz or a Chevy smallblock v8.

A well-built sr20 can push a shit ton of power though.

A couple of Nissan SR20's would pull a premium one week before race wars.

Never heard of someone putting an SR20 in a twin

Id rather have a built F22C stroked and bored to the F24C status with a nice EFR7163 on it. 8/9k redline and between 4-500 whp on a solid motor. Mmmmm...

Because its still one of the best 4 cylinders around, especialy when you put a VVEL head on it. And they were produced till August 2002 in the S15 and the SR20VET was in production till 2008.

Because small blocks belong in the 50's and K20's in Honda's!
