I guess AMG wants a piece of FT86 action
AMG wants a small A and B class benz to be a RWD 4 cylinder turbo, I say bring it on

who knows remember they have the technology and the knowledge this is AMG after all, but for sure the price will be the the main factor, again this is AMG the cheapest they sell is the C63 AMG I think thats around $50K+.

Mercedes Benz doesn't compete with the likes of Toyota or Lotus, I don't understand why they are being brought up at all. This car will sell to upper-middle class 20-40's who are looking for a kick in the pants excitement, but with luxury and usability.
If anything this sounds more targeted at Infiniti/Nissan G/Z buyers, not Lotus and definitely not Toyota's FT. |

either way...it will be automatic only...this is Mercedes/AMG after all...they havnt had a manual car in years. But it will still be prices well outside of my price range even if it can perform as well as other AMG

Dang, I might look into that now. There's so much on the horizon, I'm losing the need to buy the FT on day one.

^^ that would be awsome, use a flat6 on the ft86 platform...remove the back seats and make it a nice drop top

A lightweight RWD sports car seems out of line with the usual AMG offerings which are usually heavier cars that just concentrates on putting maximum HP to the ground without as much concern for dynamics and handling and nimbleness.
