Replace Dome Light
Hello,
Can anyone give me some simple advice on how to remove the plastic shell? I know there are two small divets that look like I need to push in, but i tried and don't want to scratch or crack it. Is it pretty easy to do? |

I just replaced it last night, it was very easy. I used a flathead and pushed it into onto of the divets and leveraged it out a bit and then did the same to the other divet. Then I used my hands to pull the rest off. Piece of cake.

I had trouble with the lens myself I found it easier to pull out the whole assembly.

Turn the rearview mirror so that it is completely pointing forward lengthwise. Stick the screwdriver in straight up (Not at an angle.) Then push the screwdriver towards the windshield while applying upwards pressure. Do this for both of the rivets and then just pull it off with your hand.

I had the same problem do I just sloped a knife in it an it popped right out with a bit of force. I didn't damage anything so just be gentle and apply a little force

As Joe did, I had a tough time so I just took out the whole thing. Once you remove it, you just want unconnect the harness (which just pulls out) so it will be easier to handle, then there is just one phillips screw that needs to be removed to get to the light bulb. Super simple I promise!
