Lots of progress over the past month on the blue BRZ. I've got some pics and vids to add to the build thread here, but here's a quick vid for now:

Kill family,

There is a 3000gt based gathering, although almost everyone has other cars now, coming to Tellico plains and running the dragon the first weekend of August (4-7th)! Keep an eye out for my pearl white turbo FRS with black lip kit and black RPF1's!

Great thread!

Thanks! You better stop by the store and let me sign your boobs. It's tradition.

Most (all?) other aftermarket "Crash Bar" replacements are a single tube that probably flexes and twists more easily than the stock box beam. We set out to design a replacement that would allow more space/airflow than the big boxy stock beam, without losing the torsional stiffness of the stock part. This beam utilizes 2 bars on each side welded to the mounting plate, so it should be as stiff or stiffer than the OEM piece, while still giving you lots of room for better cooling. It's made of DOM steel so not terribly lightweight, but nice and strong and only weighs 5 pounds more than the stock bar. This one also gives you a lower brace for mounting up things like the oil cooler, intercooler, or you could do rally lights, etc.
Do you know if Forged has any plans to sell this, or is this a one-off?

That was a special one off piece that we do not plan on putting into production.

But, if you happen to bring your car in and ask very nicely, we might be willing to make you one too.

Ran HPDE Beginner class at Grid Life Road Atlanta last weekend. I've been on that track before at a motorcycle trackday, but first time in car and it has been several years ago, so wanted to re-familiarize myself with it. Track is scary fun...lots of cresting, blind, fast turns, crazy high speeds, and concrete walls right next to the track.

We had a check engine light come on Saturday morning on the way TO THE TRACK from the hotel after driving the car with no issues for weeks. The factory wideband O2 sensor was offline, checked it and it was not returning any voltage...appeared to be dead. Tried to find a OEM O2 sensor on a Saturday but didn't have much luck, and it was balls hot anyway, so we decided to just call it a day and take some photos/videos, work on it back at the Forged Performance shop later that evening which was only an hour away. Got back to the shop, and his savant tech Greg Stipes was already there wrenching on another car. When we told him what was happening, and pointed out that the Flex Fuel guage was also offline, which pulls power from the now disconnected/removed narrow band O2 sensor plug, he realized it was something besides a failing O2 sensor. Recommended checking the "Heater" circuit fuse, 15amp little guy, and sure enough, it was shot. Replaced it, all was good again. We figure it blew because the O2 sensor a little loose when we went to check it, so air could have been leaking through and caused it to overheat, sending too much voltage into the circuit or something.

Sunday I was able to get right out on track, the rest of the class had a day's practice on me, and we were running low boost and watching oil temps/pressure because again, it was hot out...90+F. Car ran strong though, passed a lot fast drivers, didn't get passed once. Oil temps still hovered around 240-250, so we have some work to do there to get those temps lower...pressure was down around 40-50psi even with 20w60 Motul 300v. Several 86s had engine failures, but we made it through the day and she still runs strong and has 60-70psi at 210F oil temps. Here's a pic from Sunday...more pics and vids to come.
