Progress on the heater core lines. Waiting for AN fittings to come in (hopefully today) and I will re-install everything.

I think you did it the best possible way. Looks good, and will be very secure.

This is pretty much how it has to stay. There's no enough room to run these -8AN lines side by side so one of them had to loop down as shown.

Also just an update for this thread:

I won't be working on the car for a few months. I was suppose to continue to work on it in Eathen's garage but he's asked me to move the car out so I won't be able to really do anything. My garage has no room at all, the one side of the car will be about 2 inches away from the wall and front and rear you can't even walk around the car.

Anyway, whenever he decides I can come back is when i'll be starting work again. If I had to guess, sometime after March but who knows. It's not my garage so nothing I can do about it.

I'm like, 90% done with this. There's only a few things left to tidy up. The heater core and dash removal really put me back more than I expected. I also took 2 work trips this October so life just gets in the way sometimes. Basically, I haven't made any real progress since August which is sad. Trying to get heat working in this car took up 2-3 months of my life... See http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=130229

So basically i've had some bad luck and other things in life that took precedence. I'll be back to finishing this up and my HOPE is the car is tuned and running by June.

So far, I have to maybe buy a few parts to tidy up and pay for a tune. Then I need wheels and tires to put the power down. Maybe another $4,000 roughly before it's complete.

And I've been trying to save as much money as possible. My bottom end is 100% stock, rear end is a stock lexus diff, etc. Eventually i'll need a built bottom end for higher power and likely a ford rear end so another $6k+

This is with me doing all my own labor.

Thanks for sharing, you are doing a quality job. You have given me it is a lot of food for thought. I had heard that this kind of swap was around $25k, with all the supporting mods. I have a mechanic that is telling me $7500-$10000 was all I was looking at, I have not been able to get a complete price for parts, labor, materials and so forth.

It seems like every time I talk with him about it the number gets a little higher. So I have been trying to do some research on my own and I feel like the best medicine for me is leave it alone. There is no doubt that anyone can drop an engine in and make it run, but no gauges, ABS, A/C, Heat, etc. Basically, it becomes a track car, not a daily driver. Mine is a DD and would want it to drive as it did before.

Your build is going to be so nice, great motor, the CD009 is a smooth transmission and PureAutomotive parts. I am excited to see this completed, keep up the good work.

I totally agree. Not having every feature working just wasn't on the table for me. Otherwise I wouldn't have used this chassis. If you just want something with a 2jz you don't need to put it in a BRZ to do so.

I appreciate the kind words! I'd like to think i'm more towards the side of quality on my build but the reality is i'm somewhere right in the middle. I skimped on a lot of things I probably shouldn't have.
