Rotrex oil cooler bottle
Hi,
Does anyone know how to remove the bottle of the rotrex oil reservoir without leaking it everywhere? I can only think of sucking the bottle dry then remove since the system contain more than the bottle could hold and will have some remaining inside the line. |

is the oil reservoir designed to leak excess oil of its overfilled, i seem to be leaking oil from the reservoir after driving for 5 minutes, i topped it off prior and now the oil level is at the 'max' line. thanks in advance

I have the KW kit, but same Rotrex blower and reservoir, and am experiencing the same thing. I have siphoned out some SC coolant/oil little by little to the point where I'm right at the minimum level after the car has sat off for a few hours. The Rotrex instructions says to read the coolant level while running the engine between 2k & 3k RPM (iirc) and from what I can tell my level is at about right (half way between min and max) there. Still, I get some leakage from the top of the can occasionally. I think the coolant isn't getting enough cooling in stop & go traffic with it being behind the IC and therefore is steaming up into the reservoir top - but that is just my wild guess. Not sure how many others are experiencing this. |

"full" is really about just 1 inch from the bottom of the dipstick, for clarification. The fluid shouldn't be overflowing at all. |

I would like to get a little wider power band with JR SC on AT. P&L 4-1 header and cat + P&L overpipe + P&L front pipe and cat + Perrin 2.5" resonated + dyno tune got rid of the torque dip and work beautifully on power but power surge comes at around 5.5k rpm and I'd love to see it kick in around 4 - 4.5k rpm, especially with taller gears on AT. Hope a slightly smaller pulley would help with this. Update 7/14: I no longer wish for a smaller pulley. Went to Mike at moto-east for the first time to try a different tune - completely transformed the car. More than enough power for my (street and track) needs and excellent power band. So I will be getting this SC in the coming months and have a problem.... Do I get a clutch or an exhaust? Any advocates out there for either direction?

Which kit? CARB Tune or Do-it-yourself tune kit? I'm on the stock clutch with the CARB Tune Kit, which I believe is a very conservative tune and I have NO clutch problems. Being in PA you won't need a CARB tune kit. So I would spend my money on a damn good tune and an exhaust. I doubt you'll need a clutch... @sklimo chime in my friend. You've got the beast! I'm still on the CARB Tune. Me need MOORREE POWER!
