No comments on how to approach light surface or deep scratches post Opti-Coat?

What effect will a shops buffing, etc. have on the coating and if it is in only a certain area do I re opti-coat just that spot or what?

I apologize for being new and uninformed on the subject matter.

Any update on this? Especially the part about how to approach light or deep scratches.

I had a little mishap that caused some scratches/scuff marks on the top of my trunk and I picked up a bottle of Meguiar's Ultimate Compound (after asking Mike first) and it worked for the most part. There are still some scratches that I just can't seem to get out though. Any thoughts on what my next step should be?

You can't really get around to the problem without machine polishing it and reapply the opti coat on that section only.

Bingo. I asked David at Optimum this question and his response was that you can polish the Opti Coated car with a finishing polish and finishing pad, ONCE, without removing the coating. Anything more aggressive or more often and its time to reapply. The good news is that if you do get a scratch, it is easily removed and then you can just reapply to that panel.
